I add water to my young guy's food, he likes it soupy, but I have been noticing some small pees in the box, bit also regular sized ones so I am not sure if I should be worried or if the water from a meal just comes out. Would they hold it until the bladder is full or would it just come out in the quantity consumed? He seems fine otherwise. (Other than some bilous vomiting in the morning if not fed early). Going to the vet is very stressful for kitty and I tend to worry too much. What do you guys think/have experienced? I know all the things it could indicate but could it just be the frequent small amounts of water? ( He insists on eating a bunch pf small meals a day, and we recently started with fresh food from nomnomnow) thanks for any thoughts, especially reassuring ones! But also need to know if this is unusual.

I put enough water in Tuff's FF can to rinse it out ( about a tbs) and then put it on top of the food. He loves licking the water on the shower floor. Does anyone else's cat do this?

~ HA - yes I have seen my cats having a drink in the shower & sink !
I rinse the cans in warm water and fill a few bowls. They seem to like that. Good for the kidneys :lovecat2:

My late Jasmine would wait until I got out of the shower, bolt in, and drink from the floor and dripping tap like she never drank LOL.

I actually keep a water bowl in the shower for another senior kitty who has kidney issues. He has to have the bowl filled to the top and likes to lap it ovwr the side and watch it run down the drain. It is like he only wants water in places where there is plumbing. Lol mind you I givw him reverse osmosis bottled water but it keeps him drinking. Does anyone have the small pees from adding water to food?

Emerson and Dexter do this! Emerson waits by the door for me or DH to get out of the shower. He hops up on the little lip near the floor and licks the walls. His butt and feet get all wet and he leaves pawprints leading away from the bathroom when he is done...

Oh well, more moisture in his diet I suppose!

I do not add water. All 3 of my cats eat canned. If the food is mushed down and not in pieces 2 of my cat can't or won't eat it that way. Toilet wate? That is so unsanitary
That will give me nightmares. They drink out of heavy ceramic bowls that are tilted. with fresh water. I put the bowls on top of books to make them higher. They drink more since I got the bowls. Just like people, as cats age things won't be working as well physically and mentally

That was 3 years ago and no ill effects
I understand my cats also preferred to drink out of a toilet and none of them seemed to have any problems from it, but we didn't want to risk it so we started closing toilet lids consistently which is also healthier for human residents! If you close the lid before you flush nothing gets aerosolized so it's a win for you and a win for your cat! Also we added in some flowing water dishes with a washable filter and they love that as much as they ever loved the toilet lol! Maybe try switching to a catit fountain as it is fairly inexpensive and start closing the toilet lid for their sake and yours. :)
