my 6 year old cat Lola hasent grown her canine teeth , iv had her since she was a baby so I can happily say they have never been there , or ever any sign of them growing , she has grown her molers and pre molers and her incisors , but no canines at all ?? She’s otherwise fit and healthy eats fine and is happy , I just am naturally mistified and concerned . Any ideas ? Iv never known this before.

Hi. Not really any help, but has a vet looked and maybe even taken x-rays?

The only reason I am even suggesting such a thing is because I (no, not my cat) was over 20 years old before anyone realized I still had two baby teeth in my mouth. And, yes prior to that there were x-rays taken, so I don't know about that part??

As of my age now, 40 years later, the baby teeth are still there and intact - but, the adult teeth have now been seen in xrays, so they are still in the roof of my mouth. I know this is not the same as feline teeth, but maybe something similar????

My cat had unerupted canine tooth - partially erupted to be precise, because it grew 1 millimeter but not more than that. We removed it when he was 1yo as from what I know, there was a possibility of some dentigerous cyst, possibly dangerous if we left any part of it including a root. I would definitely have a dental x-ray done to your kitty if I were in your position.
