My Cat Bites Me When Im In A Argument

i was on the phone and got into a argument. my cat starts staring at me. i was sitting on the couch and she kept getting coming on the couch to see whats going on. she also had came face to face with me, sniffing me. she then starts to bite my arm, it was gentle though wasnt aggressive. the whole thing was cute. has anyones cat behaved like this? what does it mean? it was like she was trying to tell me to shut up lol. or like she was making sure i was ok.

Some people including me, have had our cat become very interested when we're talking on the phone, and I noticed especially when I am happy.
With you, I really do think your kitty was concerned about you

I agree. She was making sure that you were OK.

Our animals pick up our stress. Your cat probably knew you were getting upset and it was her way to snap you back to calm mode.

One of my cats (Gracie - RIP) used to come up to me, kind of climb up my leg as if she were begging and then made a pleading-kind of meow whenever I raised my voice/yelled. My husband and learned to whisper-yell our excitement during football season!!

Yes, it can be a common thing. I do think she was reacting to your 'argument voice', in this case.

What's fun is to see how cats react when you're having positive, happy phone convos, like Furballsmom said. My cat gets wild crazy jealous I think, because I'm very involved and talking with someone and yet she's not getting the normal visual body language cues that I'm interacting with her. Confusing!

Krista likes to climb into my lap when I'm on conference calls. I feel this is only appropriate to complete the super-villain ensemble.

I can also chime in and say, yes when I am on the phone my cats get very curious/worried and nibble on me. No hard bites at all.

I think they are just overexcited/stimulated (audio) and then release the energy by nibbling.

Regardless of the tenor of the conversation, Sweet Gum attacks the phone. If we're going to have a business call, we have to lock her out of the room.

Wow you guys were so lucky! One of my cats (he had issues...to say the least) would attack me when I was on the phone! Like full on teeth and claws, drew blood and all. I had to either be in a different room so he did not know I was on the phone or if he was in the same room (and I had to stay in that room for whatever reason) I had to stay standing, he would attack my feet, but at least my face was saved! I honestly don't know what his deal was with the phone.

its so cute how are kitties behave. mine doesnt react when im talking normal on the phone,just when i yell.
