Hello Hello! Happy Tuesday Everyone! Phew, snowy day today where I am!

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

I always wanted to magically become fluent in all the languages of the world  Or at least a good chunk. If not that, then probably something really practical like car mechanics. Or guns/weapons.

Not to be a copy cat. But I have always thought it would be great to talk to anyone in the world in their own language. That was the first thing to come to my mind when I read your question. I was surprised when I read the next line and you had the same wish.

For me it would be languages as well. I have tried in the classroom and I lived in Germany for 5 years, I still can't speak another language. I would settle on just a couple though. Spanish because it would be the most practical here in the U.S. and French because I think it is such a pretty sounding language.

Tonight- I'd go with expert chef. My friend has been studying cooking for decades and she is so good. I've gone to her and requested vegan meals, soft meals (due to dental work), no-carb meals for my husband's Atkins craze from years ago and she still manages to prep these crazy perfectly prepared dishes for us.

So right now since I had teeth extracted and have a jaw infection I really wish I knew how to make some interesting soft foods.

Otherwise, yes I agree with Lari Lari being a polyglot is something I'd love to do. I've studied so many languages but some I'm fluent in reading or hearing but not speaking. It'd be nice to get it all on the same level so I can be genuinely fluent.

I think I am fluent in "catspeak" but it's no good on a CV. Maybe I'm looking for employment in the wrong places. When cats do finally take over the world we will all be billionaires.

I have always wanted to be an archeologist. I would, as so many of you, also like to be fluent in languages. I took 3 years of French in school but I am not fluent.
:yeah: I think archeology would be fascinating. I would like to be fluent in German and Spanish. My son's ex-GF was Japanese and spoke and understood five languages fluently: Japanese, English, French, German, and, I think, the fifth one was Spanish. She tried to teach me Japanese, but I couldn't figure it out. We had a lot of fun trying, though.

I would love to be an expert in figuring out how to sterilize cats through an injection or medicine. It would end so much suffering in this world. My heart breaks for all those little ones with no home and noone to love them......

Languages for me too. I'm fascinated by different cultures and languages, and can currently speak French, Spanish and Dutch and know some words in Korean, Japanese and German; though would love to be able to be an expert on all languages so I could communicate with people from across the world in their native language!

Right now, I'd settle for being an expert in keeping young kids entertained when school is canceled and it's too cold to go outside.

But really, I've always been fascinated by cultures other than my own and would definitely like to be an expert in languages and culture (even if it was just one or two). I speak some French and some Russian, so I would probably like to be able to speak both fluently for starters.

I used to be fluent in Spanish and I still can communicate fairly well. I spent a year in Spain in college, but that was a looong time ago.

I would like to be fluent in more languages, (especially Meow) but even more - if there were no barriers - I would like to be an archaeologist. I have always been fascinated with ancient cultures, even going back to the Stone Age. I am currently reading a book about English, Egyptian archaelogists. In real life, this would never happen because I don't like getting my fingernails dirty and I like to work and then come home and sleep in my own bed. Also I am not keen on sleeping in a tent.
