I love my Iphone. I have a 6S plus I think. My husband switched from Android to Iphone and loves it. He switched from a windows laptop to an Macbook as well
I think of it as: "Once you go Mac, you never go Back..."

I recently switched from an Android phone, which I hated, to an IPhone 7 which I love. But I also had an IPad so I was familiar with the screens and functions. But just comparing the phone function, I find the IPhone much much simpler to use.

The reason I chose the IPhone 7 vs 8 or 10 was a simple matter of cost. About $550 for the 7 which is still being sold by Apple vs a thousand or so for the 10. It has more than enough memory and decent battery life.

I switched to iPhone a few years ago when I got a 6s Plus. I will never go back. I have a XR now and I love it as much as my last one! My mom switched about a year ago and really likes the iPhone (she has a 7). My dad is still holding out, but he may convert too. I also switch to a macbook several years ago and won't switch back to windows either.

~ I believe the advantage of a removable battery is the convenience of using a spare one. People who travel often do this. It's also a safe way to reboot a phone that has locked up .
I read that a removable battery takes more space - hence the reason more phones don't come that way .
I used to always choose my phone because it had a removable battery, but they just don't come that way anymore, at least not ones that I wanted.

I've only ever used iPhones but I'm tempted to give Android a go as I've heard good things about it, however I think I'll still stick to an iPhone when my next phone contract is up. Currently using an iPhone 7.

And just in case any of you are using Comcast/Xfinity as your cable provider. They have the sweetest deal on their Xfinity mobile service. Unlimited text and talk plus 10 mg data free per month, $12 for a gig of data after that per account. I rarely use data so this works wonderfully for me. All I have spent in six months is $2.50 per month, which is taxes on the free services and this month Xfinity sent me a $100 gift card for bringing my own phone.

My husband and I just got our first Smartphones in November. The only reason we got them is because our cable company offers a plan that took our monthly payments down by $40. Our old phones were slide phones and we did not have data on them, but they still cost much more than they ought to. We had both had our phones for seven to nine years. (Yep, the same phones.) After we pay off our phones, we will be paying 15-ish less than what we are paying now, so about $55 less than before.

Anyway, we have Androids. LGK something. 30, maybe? I hate it because my fingers are too cold or something for the screen half the time and because I cannot just send a picture in a text. It goes through my Gmail photos. The only thing I like is that I can use coupons easier. He likes that he can watch videos and listen to podcasts and audiobooks easier. I prefer my laptop for that.

Ours is Spectrum. The plan is great. We have not used more data than allocated by our plan, and we are paying considerably less a month. We have not had any service issues either.

Some employers offer cell phone discounts like discounted phones and some small percentage off your monthly bill. Ask HR for any perks and discounts. Big companies typically have all sorts of employee discounts.

I love my iPhone. Mine is a 6S+ because I seldom use it but when I do, it's really easy. My husband has an iPhone X because he uses every feature on it. If he ever loses it, his brain will go, too. Speaking of losing your phone, the iPhone has a feature called "Where's my iPhone?" which you can use to find or track it if it's stolen or lost. Another feature a lot of people don't know about is that your emergency information can be accessed without any other access to the phone. This allows first responders to get your medical information immediately.

We have an app called Listmaker, I think. We use it for grocery shopping. It's linked to both phones, so what I put on my list shows up on his list. When he deletes an item, it deletes on my phone, too. It makes grocery shopping a lot faster without being redundant. You can, of course, make other lists, too.

We keep our phones in Otterboxes with protective screen covers. Those Otterboxes are tough and can save your phone.

You might also check to see if Apple has any refurbished phones that can save you a fair amount of money. I got a terrific monitor that way. By the time they refurbish it, it's like new.

Go for the iPhone. You'll be happy you did.

I heard that if you buy a phone at a Verizon store, that is all they do! They then send you out the door, telling you to 'find things out yourself'. Not right. I heard this from several people who were at the Apple store.
It may depend on the skill and/or attitude of the employees in any particular store. When I wanted to upgrade our phones from the iPhone 5s to the 8, I walked out of the first Verizon store I visited. The person appeared not to be very interested in my business. Despite being a digital immigrant, I’m pretty good with technology and don’t need much help, but I like the people waiting on me to at least appear to care about my business. At the second Verizon store, I had outstanding service. The guy transferred everything from the old phones to the new, even though my husband couldn’t remember a key password. And he offered to explain the differences between the phones, but I already knew.

Love my iPhones! And my husband loves his and manages to use it pretty well, and he’s really terrible with anything tech.

I did not pay $900 for my iPhone XR.
There are a ton of specials around..

If you look, you can find one which will decrease the cost even more..
