So a little over a year ago, a Chinese friend rescued a 2 week old kitten and asked me if I wanted her. She told me (in Chinese) that she was a 3-color cat, which is their way of saying calico or tortoiseshell. So that's what I was expecting - but when a 1 month old ball of fluff arrived home from the vet, she looked (at the time) more like a husky than a calico! She did have a mustache of yellow/cream and a small spot underneath her chin. Over time, the rest of her coat developed more hints of reddish throughout, but no patches. She's got really long hair and the individual hairs themselves can even be different colors - some of the longest hairs are ticked with banded stripes of black. I feel like she's a brown tabby with white but my Chinese friends keep calling her a 3-color cat (tortie). My first cat was a calico and my sister has a tortie and she looks nothing like either, IMO. Does the little mustache and hint of color throughout give enough to qualify her as an actual tortie/torbie with white? The kitten pic is the first picture I took of her, but with the others, I tried to pick some that actually show the color as you can see it IRL. Often in pictures she just looks grey/black and white.
