I found an approximately 8 to 12 week old kitten on Friday and since I had some Friskies Pate' from a few months back when I was feeding a stray cat till I could get it rescued that's what I fed her. I've been feeding her that brand since then but am unsure if a kitten will be O.K. eating it long term. I don't have any idea how long she'll be with me as I'm trying to find her a forever home, but I'm willing to get kitten food if the Friskies is bad for her.

The label on the can says, "100% complete and balanced nutrition for cats & kittens". If she likes it, go for it. My cats (who are So picky when it comes to food) love Friskies pates. Especially the poultry ones. Just remember that kittens need a lot of nutrition and should be allowed as much as they want.

Thanks y'all! I didn't read the front of the can all that closely except to make sure it was the pate', I know better then to feed the other type because of the carb content, and I looked on the back of the can for feeding instructions but didn't see anything specifically for kittens so figured I'd better ask!

She's currently eating nearly a can a day, the little piggy, and I feed her around 4 times a day. She's now taken to trying to hide the dish that I feed her on under whatever is available when she's finished eating. Considering the bathroom has been converted into her room she has a lot of stuff to bury it under.

Where do you think?
Wonder if burying food is a feral thing my Indy does the same thing with her leftovers she was born in the wild to a feral mom.
Forgot to add, Friskies personally is not my favourite brand because of the mystery meat (also made my cat be ill) but it's ok I guess if you can't get anything better.

I know it's not the best, but right about now it's the best I can afford. I'm not planning on keeping her and didn't plan on getting a cat. I couldn't leave her out in that bush to maybe die from her horrid habit of hiding in the undercarriage and engine compartment of cars, so I ended up with a kitten I didn't plan on, and really can't afford and am doing the best I can. I'd rather spend more feeding her a decent, cheaper, canned food, then get a month's supply of a "high quality" kibble and maybe run into trouble if she ends up dehydrated. Sadly the kibble would be cheaper to feed.

Hi! You're ok, maybe down the road you can look into some other grocery store brands those often aren't terrible. A rotational variety can be a good thing for your little sweetie.
Bless your heart!!

I'll research more into different brands if I have to keep her as a long term foster. Right now I've spent over $400 on animals this month, between my dog, the first kitten I rescued, and not Dora, I'm doing good just to get her what I've got her!

The only thing that I can figure is that they are either trying to save the food for later, or they are trying to cover it up so it doesn't attract other predators.
