Thank you, today I feel just a little more clear and can see that I help stop their suffering some.  I feel just a little bit better.  I miss them terribly of course.  The house is quiet.

I still tear up thinking and remembering my babies.  They will always be in my heart forever and ever.  I hope they know how much I still love them.

I wanted to mention that my son's cat Tigger has been an angel sent by heaven for me after losing Buddy and Sheila. Tigger has been the most gentle sweet kind cat I have ever met. I believe there was a reason he came into our lives the day we adopted him at Walmart:)

It's a personal decision, there is no right or wrong.

We always get the ashes back. It feels nice to have that trace of them there. We just lost a kitty today and we are getting his ashes.

If you think you might regret not having the ashes, maybe you should get them. But don't feel like you must. Photos and memories are a lot. The kitty will always live in your heart.

I've had 3 pets put to sleep, and 2 of them I had cremated and kept their ashes, whereas the third and most recent I had part of a communal cremation. I came to the realization that although I loved and will always love them with all of my entirety to the ends of every possible existent world and back, when they're gone, no matter what I keep of theirs, the physical being I knew of them was gone. I have other mementos. Photos, videos, blankets, old beloved toys, feathers (they were all birds).

Tangible things like that have as much meaning as you apply to them. Whatever you think and feel helps your heart recover are the only things that matter. At the end of the day, what you can touch means very little - it's what you remember that brings back comfort and happiness.

 Having another little one to coddle and love really helps to ease the pain. I call Mogli, who came into our lives 8 days after we lost our Jamie, our "feline grief counselor".

I'm so sorry for your losses. It's been 7 weeks since losing one of mine...and the tears only come on occasion...amazing what can spark them. I now smile through the tears at least. We did have her ashes returned to us, but don't be sad... his real spirit is in your heart :)

Buddy5000, I'm so happy that Tiger found a forever home with you, it helps to make room in your heart fro another. Of course your two babies know how much you love them, at the Rainbow Bridge they know everything! Talk to them and I would bet they can hear you and they will send their love in a dream or a sign. Bless you for loving so much. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
