    what to feed now

If you have a Petsmart in your area, Authority cans sell for cheap and they're good quality. Most quality cans I buy are $1.40-$2.00 in my area... Authority sells for under $1. Nutro isn't too bad either for price I believe.

    How many meals a day?

And, one more section from the CatInfo.org site talking about how much to feed a cat.

    How many meals a day?

Just to add to that, on almost any bag or can of food it mentions that kittens and nursing/pregnant mothers need more food than the norm.

    How many meals a day?

The site CatInfo.org (written by a vet), mentions this about caloric intake:

VERY IMPORTANT - P&G buys more quality food

I was just talking to somebody who feeds their pet Natura products. They contacted a rep and was told that part of the contract stipulates that the formulas cannot change for 2 years. I wonder if that's true...? Has anybody else talked to a Natura rep?

VERY IMPORTANT - P&G buys more quality food

Just curious... how often has something like this happened (i.e.: big food chain buys out smaller healthy brand)? I would assume it's not that uncommon, correct? I read a bit about Nutro earlier in the thread, but are there more examples? When it does happen, what are the typical results? Does...

    Genesis or Royal Canin???

I'll just make it easier for those better at analyzing ingredients... These are the 2 most typical formulas: Genesis Adult Chicken Meat Meal, Corn, Animal Fat, Wheat Flour, Liver Meal, Dehydrated Poultry Liver, Fish Meal, Fresh Meat Meal, Hydrolysed Poultry, Dehydrated Meat Meal, Wheat Bran...

Fancy Feast Fish & Shrimp a Great Bargain?

From their site it seems like it's 3% ash as fed (max). With 78% moisture (max), that means a maximum of about 13.6% ash (dry matter). Edit: For what it's worth though, the ash content seems pretty well on par with a lot of their offerings. I clicked on a bunch and the percentages ranged from...

Fancy Feast Fish & Shrimp a Great Bargain?

The best thing about Fancy Feast is the fact that it's so palatable. I won't usually feed it for fear of my cats liking it too much to the point where they turn up their nose at better stuff. We've had fosters and mothers before though who have had some upper respiratory issues and have not been...

Experience with Innova cat + kitten dry?

Is potato/starch any better or worse than corn, rice, wheat, etc?

Experience with Innova cat + kitten dry?

Does anybody feed this food? I'm just basically looking for testimonials. Is it palatable? Have your cats had any problems with it? Have they done well? I'm looking to switch from Felidae dry to something of comparable quality but with some lower mineral contents. I'm not looking for grain...

    UTI Certified Cat Food?

Well the math is a little tricky. I don't think my logic is flawed, but I've been known to be wrong from time to time. At best these are all just estimates anyways as it's hard when the numbers can vary from batch to batch. I'll give an example of what I did though. For the Innova Cat +...

    UTI Certified Cat Food?

Hmm... well maybe next time the cats get their check-up I'll inquire about a urinalysis. Right now they get Wellness wet pâtÃ169 (various flavors), but they also get various flavors of Evolve, Merrick, Natural Balance, Felidae, Chicken Soup, Go!, Innova, and Eagle Pack pâtÃ169 (and perhaps...

    UTI Certified Cat Food?

Wow... so on a wet-only diet of Wellness (grain-free?), 2 of your cats had a urine pH of 7.5?

    UTI Certified Cat Food?

So does Mazy get c/d dry, canned, or both? What was her diet before that kept causing the crystals to come back?
