    1 of 2 Newborns Won't Suckle

Oh - I also considered the possibility that the white one is dilute and the creamy one isn't. I forgot to add that the mom is dilute as well as a red tabby carrying point. I call her pale girl. I'll see if I can find a picture of her. Ok I found one although it's not the greatest of her color...

Thank you for the help!! The video was a really good one and that's why I ordered what she's using! I really appreciate the experience I know this board offers!

    1 of 2 Newborns Won't Suckle

Mom is a red tabby with white spotting, carrying point. I do find it interesting how the female is creamy but the male is white. I've only seen one other brand new colorpoint - a male who was also solid white like my lil guy. I thought maybe the female was darker because she wasn't staying as...

    1 of 2 Newborns Won't Suckle

Thank you for your reply! Sorry for the delay in my response - I've been really busy trying to do what I can for the kittens. I really don't know what to think or whether or not to allow myself to be optimistic about the little female's future. She's still going and even seems relatively...

    1 of 2 Newborns Won't Suckle

Hi everyone - I came home from work yesterday to find 2 newborns. I thought all was well but I have yet to see one of them suckle. I have placed the kitten to the nipple, squeezed out a little milk to inspire but she just won't latch. She cries, I assume out of hunger but once she's tucked in...

    Help Identifying Parents Of Kittens

All three adults are tabbies, in my estimation.

Actually... If the mother is Oo, she WOULD have to be expressing both black and red, correct? I don't see any kind of black on the red cat (to my eye). She is a very pale red at that. I'm suspicious of the pointed cat at this point, being a diluted torbie possibly covered up in part by "with white?"

    Help Identifying Parents Of Kittens

I had read that, and am still trying to figure out which adult cats are male and female in order to determine genetically if the two (presumed) males could have both fathered some of the babies.

    Help Identifying Parents Of Kittens

The red cat that I only have that one picture of is fully red, with no black whatsoever.... causing me to believe she isn't tortiseshell. Please forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn since I'm still trying to learn the genetics of cats. If the pointed cat is the female and SHE is a tortie, it...

    Help Identifying Parents Of Kittens

I think I may have found a way: What if the (assumed) female tortie point is actually a torbie? If she is both red and black, when paired with the black/blue tabby, they could produce males of either red or black and females that are either black or torties.... Does anyone see the possibility...

    Help Identifying Parents Of Kittens

I typed your suggestion of the black (or blue) tabby being the father, and the red tabby being the mother into the genetics calculator and this is what it gave me: Toms will all be black. Mollies will all be tortoiseshell. This doesn't explain the red baby. I can't find any combination of the...

Is it true that females cannot carry O without expressing it??

The only problem with that possibility is the red baby. All females would be torties and all males would be black.... right? Oh, and there are 4 babies total. I've included a picture of all of them in the original post.

Soo... when I saw the kittens laying nearby the other tomcat - the black mackerel... that's normal if he's not their father?

The kittens photos are labeled beginning with Baby... I think the last 3 photos are the babies. I can't get closer than about 10 feet to them - they are very wild and afraid of humans. I'm trying to earn their trust before it gets cold.
