Hmmm ... that's good idea, come at it from two angles. When I try to brush him he either tries to kill the brush or my hand. Hallie is better at it, she actually likes it. Have to liberate the other brush from the child who decided to use it to brush dolly's hair - dolly has beautiful hair...

We tried brushing - Casey grabbed it, wrestled it to the floor and tried to kill it. So ... Hallie agreed to 3 strokes and then ran away. Kitty massage went well, they like that. Reiki ... not so sure, they looked at me like I'd lost it ... maybe I have ... I think I need a massage. It's the...

You have given me an idea though. Things can be peaceful all evening and start to stir up when they know we're headed for bed - Hallie wants to play and Casey wants to eat. We don't have late night meals so he's out of luck. But he starts winding her up then, so that's what needs to stop. I've...

Well, I never ... LOL. I checked it out - the cat just looked at me, however the husband went to sleep ... although it could have been a good supper and his comfy chair.

We've had one near miss since then when things were heating up, but it got quelled quickly. I really think she probably saw something outside and he just frightened the bejeejers out of her when he tried to chase her. They aren't exactly best friends, but they do like to chase each other for fun...

Cat music? Is there such a thing? I did play Reiki for the African violets and they perked up, maybe it would work to calm the feline nerves.

Thanks for suggesting this. I have heard of this but never experienced it. They actually seem to bond MORE after a vet visit, surprisingly - terror shared is terror halved maybe. This just came so out of the blue, although I do wonder if Hallie saw something outside and was already on edge when...

We've just started having an issue with our small female cat (Hallie) going after and bullying the older, bigger cat Casey. He's only a year older than her, but twice as big. It started with a major rumble a few nights ago - she was looking out the back door at something in the dark, he came up...

    Iffy Teeth

Thank you so much! We're going to watch that video tonight and go get toothbrushes for each of them tomorrow. I never thought this would be even possible without causing them stress and me losing a finger or two. I'm excited to try this and will post on here how it goes. Thanks again to both of...

    Iffy Teeth

We've had one cat who just had a dental and several teeth taken out because of gingivitis. He will only eat wet food - just can't get him to even try the dry stuff. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep his teeth clean so he doesn't lose any more? I did try the finger brush - HA! That's not...

    Catio Round 2

I've seen so many good ideas on here for some wonderful catios, but ... what do you do when the cat just isn't that keen? We have a very small back yard and had a great time building what we thought was a super little playhouse for Puss. She remains unconvinced. We looked at our space and...

    Catio Intro

I wish we could attach it to the house but we have a high window in the kitchen and it just isn't too practical. I didn't know there was catnip spray - that's a good idea. I don't want her crazy just "attracted". We're very much at the beginning yet and I thought we could put some cat friendly...

    Catio Intro

We're in the middle of completing a catio for one of our cats and not sure how crazy she is about the whole idea. Hallie is 2 1/2 and we got her from a shelter about 6 months ago. She was taken out of a hoarding situation. We don't think she's ever really been outside before but she does like to...

    Odiferous Lady

We've started limiting her "gassy food" to a small amount a day which has helped tremendously. She still loves it but seems quite happy to have it first thing in the morning when she's more active and it has time to make it's way through. We've switched her to something else for supper which has...

    Odiferous Lady

Nature's Best is one of the meatier high quality foods available in Britain, but it just did not set well. We just switched down to a Purina supermarket brand and that was then end of the problem. I'm truly amazed at how much unneeded stuff is put in cat food and I know they market it for human...
