Mickey, my 27 lbs foster and his journey back to a healthy weight

I think you would find if you transitioned them to wet and fed them three meals a day, with at least one 10-12 hour fast, their appetites would improve. Digestion takes an enormous amount of energy and a cat nibbling on high carb kibble all day, along with the dehydration that comes with it, is...

Feel guilty for even considering moving city.

It's so easy for everyone else to say "Oh don't worry they'll be fine" isn't it? I lived in the same home for 22 years and have two cats, one elderly, one senior who also had lived in that home all their lives. Very secluded quiet lives. I bought a house and I stressed myself sick over how...

Leaving a cat at home for a long weekend, once a month

This is really not true. Kibble is not "good for their teeth" at all, and a wet diet isn't bad for their teeth either. Please think about how this doesn't make any sense. It would be like saying you eat pretzels, or fritos, because it is good for your teeth.Dental health is largely genetic...

Leaving a cat at home for a long weekend, once a month

I would not leave a male cat with only kibble for 3 days. Males are at very high risk of blockage when fed a kibble only diet. In addition BSH are a very people oriented social breed and would find it very stressful to be left alone so long. My advice would be to engage a sitter to come in three...

Cat Dark Stool On Raw Food

When feeding raw, the color of the stool it most definitely depends on whether the meat is light or dark. Since my cats have both daily, their stool is usually marbled. :)

Cat Dark Stool On Raw Food

Color of stool will depend on the muscle meat being fed. Darker meats will result in darker stool. Lighter meats wil result in lighter colored stool. I often get marbled poops in the littler box. :)

    Any Feeding Ez Complete?

I would eliminate the dry, for a start. Then slowly transition off the other processed foods. I've been Feeding EZc since it's release in Feb 2016. I used to feed it in rotation with Rad Cat and prey model raw. Since the demise of Rad Cat I now feed EZc and Alnutrin in rotation for the healthy...

Anyone find a super-tall (cat, not dog proof) doorway gate?

PS Just for fun: When Queen Eva first came and was still in "quarantine" She was tiny then, she can't do that now. :lol3: (though she does still spend a lot of time up there on the edge of the door, she gets there by more conventional methods, the stair-step book cases))

Anyone find a super-tall (cat, not dog proof) doorway gate?

Can you view video? I can take pictures instead if you need but I just went ahead and did this bit of video to show what I did. It's so handy for if I have to have the plumber in or something. they are kept safe, and have their Safe Spots, but can still see what's going on if they want to...

Alternatives to expensive Urinary SO food

No, that is not balanced. And if you are talking about cans of human chicken, that is not appropriate for cats, too much sodium, for one thing . What you can do is feed a homemade raw diet, this will provide the moisture your cat needs and the meat which is appropriate for her being a...

    Bit by stray

. This is for a known cat with a known vaccination status. Not an unknown stray. I know that rabies is alive and well in PA so you may want to check on these procedures the've probably been updated, and if they haven't they should be. Where I live, rabies is also a serious concern and is...

    Bit by stray

In 10-14 days while the cat is kept quarantined the OP could be dead. Around here at least, it is a high risk. I'd get the shots. The ER is needed for the bite wound itself, regardless of the rabies risk. I was recently (3 weeks) badly bitten by one of my own cats and the wounds are still very...
