    eye malignancy

Pardon, I remember I was going to say, that if a cat has had cancer, I'd go gung-ho with supplements..... reishi mushroom and an immune builder like shitake or astragalus. I found some good things too like chihko & circuma and pau d'arco to fight tumours..at this site...

Rabies Vaccinations: One or Three Year?

This is a dumb question, but does the tag/paper that's proof of the rabies vaccine say it's only a 1 year? Or is the tag a different colour? If not, I'd try the 1 year every two years. I've had a cat that wasn't sick for a full 18 years, I bet partly because of avoiding vaccines. The indoor...

    eye malignancy

Our 'One-eyed-Nipper' had his cancer surgery July 02. He just turned 19 this month. I understand there are a number of different types of cancer, and if they do a biopsy they can tell more about it. In our cat's case it was 'contained' to the eye, and even tho it's a blood-related cancer, ie...

brown spots/secretions - what is it??

Frodo was at the vet when he was neutered in October, and judged to be in good health. By freckles I mean 'little brown spots'.. and there is some balding on the ears and above the eyes where the spots are. We'll get him to the vet but I was interested in whether anyone has seen this sort of...

Socializing a feral: The story of Lucky

My friend had a really great cat for 22 years who started as an adult stray. To 'catch ' him she put food in the backyard and at first walked away, else he wouldn't eat. Then she started sitting on the back step while he ate. One day while she was sitting there he came over and crawled into her...

Our wonderful ginger kitten-almost-cat Frodo has : brown secretions (little bit) from eyes and nose; freckles on ears and above eyes. Skin is pinkish. Thanks ! for ideas on what it is. He is active and happy, but every other day or so has a little coughing session. We don't think it's...

Hi - I haven't been to this site much, i actually posted a query about this exact problem. In the meantime, I've been preoccupied with my cat Nipper who is 19 this week.. Everyone's reply may be exactly the right one and i'm only mentioning because of the coincidence - not to scare anyone -...

    Cancer surgery

Hi everyone - has anyone known that cancer of the iris (and my cat's surgery for it, he has lost his eye) can be limited only to the eye? The lab guy said he had heard of it being limited but had not seen it. Nipper's blood tests and x-rays and general health have shown nothing , and the cancer...

    Bach's Remedy - dosage question

3 drops dropped right into the mouth, or ... rubbing into the ears. I tried this and it has helped for sure, I was giving it to my 18-yr old for incessant yowling. The person recommending this was a health store person who also treated animals for various things as a business. Not a vet tho.

    Incessant Howls/ Meowing

Sandie, thanks very much, i'll look into Dr bachs. We have left lights on right at his fuzzy cat beds, and radio/stereo. Indeed, something else has to be done, that is consoling some med might not be so bad, but i'll get to the health food store first. And sorry for double entry, i didn't see it...

help!!! should I let my cat have surgery?

I just got some good messages back from vet techs and people re my 18-yr old cat. He has a heart murmer and the vet advised against dental surgery. However, if the heart and blood work is good i think it's really good to go for a cleaning. I would insist on iso-fluorine sedation tho, it is only...
