Hi, please see my post on this thread. For whatever it's worth, the Curcuvet might help your kitty. I really think it's helping mine, but can't say for sure. It's worth a try and could be better than prednisone or antibiotics.
Hi,
Our kitty, Jelli, gets this intermittently. She doesn't have an official diagnosis--her eosinophils were tested and it came out negative. We don't use plastic bowls, but she apparently has pica and an odd taste for chewing on plastic and other bizarre things. I don't know what she gets...
Hi Donutte,
It looks like they did test her thyroid. These are the numbers:
Total T4: 2.2 (range is 0.8-4.0)
Creatinine: 2.2
BUN: 43 (range 14-36)
There was no BUN/urea and
There was no SDMA...what is that?
I decided to get the earlier appointment with the other internist. Worth a second...
I do have blood work from last time. I think it was late November. What numbers are you thinking I should look at?
I know. I'm debating what I should do. At this point she's been seeing an Internal Medicine specialist (ruling out pancreatitis, etc.) and he's on vacation next week. My options...
Thank you, Donutte. Her kidney levels were slightly higher than normal. The internist wasn't concerned about it (but I am.) I think she's eating a little less and she seems to be losing weight. She seems thinner. I was thinking it was because she's had a lot more energy lately (after giving her...
Thank you. She is 13 years old. Hyperthyroidism hasn't come up for her yet...her last complete blood panel was done I think it November 2015. She's been to a couple of different vets since August 2015. We wound up taking her to an internal specialist who ruled out pancreatitis. But I don't know...
Hi,
Thanks to this amazing site, I found slippery elm for my golden-girl kitty who vomits frequently. I started giving it to her the beginning of this year and she went from vomiting 3-4x/week to 1x/week. I was elated, as despite frequent vet visits, nothing else worked. The problem is, about...
Thank you--what food are you feeding her? Which additives are you avoiding? I've been giving BK high quality food, but it is canned and does have locust bean, xanthan and guar gum in it. I'm probably going to try cooking food for her to see if that works. Sigh.
I just checked and Black Kitty's most recent eosinophils were low--a 3 in a (normal range is 2-12.) So maybe it's not parasites. But I don't understand what they are....I wonder if this would also mean likely not a food allergy too...
Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for sharing your encouraging experience. Now that I'm in a place where I can focus better on my kitty's diet, I truly hope that we are able to find a culprit that we can eliminate and heal her system.
Hmmm. I tried novel proteins over the past year and couldn't get her to eat them. She's incredibly picky, but in her defense, I didn't do any special transitioning. It was blunt trial and error as I was trying to get her to eat anything. I can't tell if it's the protein that sets off the...
Hi Mrsgreenjeens, My kitty hates getting pills. I've had luck giving my kitty immune support herbs (Immugen) mixed into a little Viralys gel and dabbing it into her mouth. Could I do this with SEB powder rather than making the syrup? Mixing it into the food doesn't work as she doesn't always eat...
Thanks, Lisa Marie. I need to read and learn more about this and the ingredients that can exacerbate it. Did your kitty improve while she was on your cooked food, or was it too soon to tell?
I've been feeding my kitty Weruva Cats in the Kitchen, but she vomits that up, too. I just looked and it...
Hi, I have a kitty who I think has IBD. Before I go into more aggressive therapy (prednisone and or endoscopy), I thought I'd try to make homemade food for her-to work more carefully on her diet first.
I don't cook much and am not at all comfortable with handling raw meats (I'm mostly...
