    spraying water vs. ignoring

During the period in which yowling was a real problem for my little cat, we used spray. Different situation, though- she has eight zillion toys and a cat friend and a people sized bed to sleep on, and the meowing was totally deliberate on her part (she's a devious little thing, bless her). It...

    litter box problems

Have you tried any "stay away" sprays? One of my girls had a bad habit of pooing in the bathtub for a while- only god knows where she picked that up- and I got a citrusy spray and sprayed the tub daily and it stopped within a week and hasn't happened since.

Does my cat have FHS/Rippling skin disorder?

Thanks for the advice everyone! It look possible that she has it, so I'll call the vet and see if they know anything about the disorder- otherwise I'll try to find one which does so they can check her out :/ Will update when I find out what's going on.

    Cat Jealousy

Do anyone else's cats get jealous of each other? My big cat is pretty mellow and doesn't notice much of anything going on around her, but my little cat is SUCH a little prima donna. If I'm petting the big one- or snuggling with my partner- she'll meow or very deliberately walk up to me and brush...

What food do you use and WHY:)

I agree, plus she def didn't seem very happy when she was getting sick all the time I felt bad because sometimes, even when I know she certainly wasn't doing it on purpose, it's hard not to get a bit mad when you find cat puke in your shoes :/

What food do you use and WHY:)

Well, because we're in Australia, there's not the same range of the higher quality stuff that there is in the States, so we've done Purina Pro Plan weight loss, PPP hairball, Science Diet adult, SD hairball, SD sensitive stomach, Hills Prescriptives Z for food allergies, and finally settled on...

What food do you use and WHY:)

Both my cats primarily eat Science Diet Indoor Cat dry- as much as I'd love to feed them wet food primarily or in addition, we kind of came to the decision that an all dry diet is less harmful than vomitting multiple times a day :/ The big one is dry only, but I supplement the little one with...

I'm intrigued as to what other life paths are on TCS

I'm a reform Jew! I believe in God, but not as a greying old dude sitting on a throne but rather a non-corporeal higher power. I take the Torah as a guidebook while understanding it was written in totally, totally different times. I see Jewish traditions as more cultural than religious, and I...

    Cat Chin Acne

One of my cats has had chin acne for years- the vet's looked at it several times and she said minor cases don't really need treatment, so long as you're sure they're not causing your cat any pain. We use stainless steel bowls but she just seems prone to it. Also, with the sisal mats, you can...

    Newbie!

Hi, I just thought I'd introduce myself since my first post was asking for help and I feel silly leaving it at that- I'm miss_c and I live in Victoria, Australia with my partner and our two indoor cats (though I'm actually an American expat, hehe). There's Antichrist (on paper, she's Tiger...

    Someone PLEASE help me...

Hi Britty- my cat Smudge has had the same problem. She used to throw up daily, and it was a struggle for both her as well as all the members of the household who would find cat puke on their things! We went through a few different foods, went to the vet, tried prescription food, and more kinds...

Does my cat have FHS/Rippling skin disorder?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here I have two gorgeous cats, and the other day I was fiddling around on the internet looking for stuff on tail communication and happened across an article on FHS/rippling skin disorder (not sure which one is talked about more). Some of the symptoms...
