    The Weight Loss Support Group

I'm in at 333 so 1.6 lbs lost this week.  Woohoo!  I'm continuing to revise my diet toward the things that are best suited for Ulcerative Colitis.  It just turns out that most of those things are super healthy for you too.  :)  I'm feeling much better than last week about my continued struggle...

    kitty paws

Actually yes.  I have a collage of paw close ups on my wall that I've taken of several cats that were either my babies or babies of my friends/relatives.  One dog paw in there, but the rest are cats.  :)  I'm lucky I have black paws and white paws and tan paws in my group now.  Gabe has VERY...

Weird human food enjoyed by Cats

A cat I used to have when I first joined here named Lil (but he was a boy (long story)) loved all kinds of food.  Lil was my baby from 2 days old on.  He liked Doritos and Neosporin and Cantaloupe and Cheetos.  I believe he thought he was a human.  :)

Is anyone eating a gluten free diet

I've given this some thought with having Ulcerative Colitis, but where to begin?  And the cost seems so prohibative.

Wednesday's Question of the Day: your favourite room

I have only three "rooms" in my tiny apartment - kitchen, bathroom and big room.  So I'd say the "big" room is my favorite.  It has a few "areas" like computer, living room, bedroom.  The "living room" area is my favorite.  Comfy and relaxing and a good view of outside.  The cats lay on small...

has anyone ever had a pimple INSIDE their cheek?

I agree don't pick at it, infection could happen.  I get them too, inside my mouth and on other parts of my body (breasts, arms, legs).  I have "popped" them before but it's not a good idea and can not onl invite infection but also leave a scar.  But inside your mouth your probably not worried...

    The Weight Loss Support Group

Mostly this is to vent.  I am now off the latest med cocktail from my gastrointerologist for Ulcerative Colitis.  I'm back on the prednisone and Imuran and Uceris.  Yuk!  It works and it keeps the symptoms in check mostly but long term the prednisone isn't sustainable.  I can't be on it...

What (commercial/prescription) foods have worked/have you tried for your IBD cats?

My cat is allergic to chicken and salmon.  There are very few cat food (wet or dry) that don't have some form of chicken in them.  I had him on Nature's Balance Duck and Green Pea (wet and dry) and then like you said one day he just stopped eating it.  So finally I found Purina One Sensitive...

    The Weight Loss Support Group

I gained 1 lb this week.  Went from 335.4 to 336.4.  I'm thinking that being back on the steroid meds may have played a part in that but I'm off them again now, so maybe next week will be better.  Also I got a new DVD called Easy Yoga for Arthritis, and I'm looking forward to doing some of the...
