Agreed. Hard to say as yall have had LOT of change, stress, etc in a few months' time plus different vet poking on her frequently in same time. Sorry for loss of your sweet dog. Hope they get Cami's diagnosis determined soon & life can settle down!

Simba's still hanging in there, but Deb & I are struggling

I've read through these chuckling at times of how well trained our babies have us! Other times feeling the sadness of knowing time was no longer on our side. Whether it's with our 2-legged or 4-legged family, seeing time draw near is bittersweet -- joyful for the time & love we've been...

    Older skinny cat thyroid issue

@silent meowlook , thank you for the information! It's interesting on the dog & cat differences. Thanks for including that! I didn't think about the possible kidney involvement. Apologies to cwalke41 for hogging your thread. I hope Inka is feeling better!

    Older skinny cat thyroid issue

Thank you for sharing your cat's personal experience with thyroid meds! Apologies for not making clear, my cat does not have thyroid problem (to my knowledge). I do, & was curious because when my cats or dog experience same illness as people, they sometimes seem to share similar symptoms.

    Older skinny cat thyroid issue

@neely , does your cat sometimes flip from over- to under-active & need a med change, like with humans? Do they tend to irritability when it goes from one to the other (partly from lack of sleep because temperature fluctuates)? Hair loss? -- I keep hearing about the weight loss/gain, but I...

    Sudden excessive drool

I don't know much about the spiders, but is likely, since I think all of them do some type of poison. ...maybe not. Yeah lizards, June bugs, crickets, etc...anything that can be their temporary toy!! Had one girl that loved to craw-dadding after rains, especially if i got the leaf rake &...

    Sudden excessive drool

He wouldn't have possibly gotten hold of a frog, would he? A previous cat we had LOVED to try to eat frogs, especially green ones. Made her drool like crazy every time. -- you'd think it would've deterred her....NOT!

    What's For Dinner? - 2024

Off topic, but I LOVE to keep her books around for when I'm having a lousy day & NEED to laugh!! Never fails to bring a good belly laugh, even if the reason is silly.

FeLV Testing, Vaccines, Treatments... what I learned. Maybe it'll help someone else.

Although it hurts my heart to read this, it was what I've been trying to find -- the "this may be the progression" info that no one else seems to want to say online. @radarlove413 Dunlop's journey was not in vain. He's helping other families through your generous sharing of information. I'll...

    Cat can’t poop

Glad kitty is feeling better now!! I would assume vet will tell you how to avoid that in future, IF there is a way. If he doesn't, I would ask for suggestions from him.

Cat is meowing after eating and seems like she's in pain

Were there any environmental changes 3-4 weeks ago? New cologne, soaps, cleaning/laundry supplies? Any construction (road, house, etc) nearby? Anyone burning brush, fireplace, etc? -- ANY new scents seeping into home? Were any of these things used the day of are within 48 hrs of the eating...

What might you suggest for IBD?

Don't know about now-days, but used to be you could write to a (people or pet food) manufacturer & tell them you were interested in their product, but didn't want to buy a "x"# or "x"oz or "x" number of cans in a case JUST to try it & possibly not like it and ask if they had it in smaller...
