I haven't really looked at them. I've cut her nails in the last few months and she didn't give me any issues when i squeezed her paw. I would think to if she had that issue that she would also go out of the boxes to poo as well. I could be wrong though. Just my thoughts.

I have! We had been using the light weight which does have febreeze. So i went back to the regular unscented fresh step thinking that exact same thing and she still peed next to the boxes.
