You might not need a whole lot of freezer space, but a little for sure. If its 2-3 times a week, 1 bag should be enough. Bones are good. You dont need a grinder when you are starting off. Maybe if you go full raw, then you can think about it. But the thing is, once they get a taste of raw...
Thanks for the posts! And sorry for falling of the face of the earth! Just got a little tied up. My cats have moved in! Two sisters, about 6 months old!
Ah. Thanks for the info. Proximity is not an issue where i live. 8 vets all within 5 kms of my home. Just dont know which is good. Now i might have to google some info on them. I will look for the ones which ones clinics and work my way down.
Thanks for the info! :)
Nice info. That being said, how do you go about choosing a vet? Is it just word of the mouth? Some online database? Or just keep switching till you think you have found a one you think you can trust.
I guess I have to find one as I will pick mine up middle of next week.
You might think about switching to raw. It might be a little more cost effective. If you can buy wet cat food in bulk to cut the costs down, cant you? Or look up some deals maybe?
I have heard this conspiracy theory thrown around that vets or higher organizations making profits out of forcing packaged food. I wouldn't believe in something without proof. But some vets do work hard I guess to fuel the fire.
Safeway is Tom Thumb I know. I could be wrong! Me being right in the middle of the city, the nearest HEB is about 80kms away! :argh:
I used to butcher my own meat. Stuff it in boxes in the freezer. I had become pretty good at it. I want to feed them fish, but it is weakness of mine. I hate it!
I would suggest take tiny piece of meat and hand feed them. Not like shoving in her mouth! :)
Just hold it in your hand and take it to their mouth. Let them smell it, lick it and get a taste for it. That's how I did it. If they are eating it that way, then i guess you can move on to bigger stuff.
Not sure, if its the food that they fed in the adoption place. No matter how fancy the labeling is, its all the same. I would think yes wet to raw is a good step. How old is he/she?
Yikes! Thanks for the that one! I am only looking for this as an option if my work gets in the way. As a single guy it gets hectic every once in a while at work. I will prepare food on my own.
Red Cat is available close to my home! Awesome! :hyper:
