Question about cat on a diet..

Thanks, I'll call the vet but according to the math 2% of 12.5 lbs is .25 lbs. .25 lbs per week x 8 weeks is 2 lbs. She's lost a hair less than 1.5 lbs so I don't see that as "a bit too fast". I've been using this site.. http://www.catinfo.org/ as a guideline for calories, portions and how...

Question about cat on a diet..

My spayed, indoor only, lazybones 3yr old was a bit overweight so on the advice of my vet I've been giving her strictly controlled portions of food (Wellness, half dry/wet). In the last 8 weeks she's dropped from 12.5 lbs to 11 lbs and has maybe another .75 to 1 lbs to go. Question is what...

    Strange matting on cat's hip..

Her name is Mindy. There was a little dandruff when I first got her but she wasn't being fed good quality food by her foster parent. Her fur is much nicer now... I'm feeding her, as per my vets instructions, Hills weight formula.. half dry half wet. She weighs about 11.5 pounds but she's got...

    Strange matting on cat's hip..

Hi... I have a 3 yr old DMH spayed cat.. slightly overweight (working on that). She's very quiet and is not particularly active possibly because we've only had her here for a few weeks after getting her from a local rescue organization. Otherwise she's eating very well, bathroom habits are...

    urinary problems

She's looking and feeling better this am (tue). The constant peeing has stopped and there's no longer any visible blood in her urine. She's still not 100 percent but she's eating well and grooming herself all over instead of just around her bum.

    urinary problems

Well, she was better for a little while. I guess after the anti-inflammatory wore off she was still in some discomfort so she started peeing all over again... like 30 or more times an hour with just a little dribble each time. I took her back to my regular vet and they took xrays with no...

    urinary problems

Yeah, I went to the emerg vet clinic not far from where I live. They said she wasn't blocked but was feeling discomfort from the infection and the urge to pee so they gave her some painkillers for the next few days and some liquid to flush out the bladder. We're both feeling better now. thanks, HR

    urinary problems

Hi, I have a 3 year old spayed female longhair that I brought in to the vet 3 days ago because she was a bit lethargic and had not been eating regularly for a week or so. They diagnosed her with a urinary tract infection, kept her for a few days, gave her i/v saline and antibiotics and I took...
