Try soft paws. Jeter LOVES to shred sofas, no matter how many scratching posts we have. Soft Paws is the only thing that has saved our new couch. Plus they are fairly inexpensive and don't harm your cat.

Adorable isn't he? If any of you remember, he was the Christmas eve cat I found last year. He was absolutely psychotic. Thanks to much help from MA, he is now a well adjusted kitty. Though occassionally, his psychotic tendencies do display themselves... But not as much as before.

Following are pics of the cat tree I had for the kitlits. It only lasted about a month and then was destroyed in an amazing display of solidarity and focus of the mind.
As you can see, Jeter was never quite able to drag his tubby butt up the tree. But he did nibble on the base.
