    Methimazole and Lack of Appetite

Fingers definitely crossed. Thanks, I know this is going to be a long process. A friend of mine had a cat with hyperthyroid that, for various reasons went untreated for a long time, and eventually died of it. So that's always in the back of my mind, even though Ed is getting much more...

    Methimazole and Lack of Appetite

He is on 1.25mg twice per day for a total of 2.5mg per day. We have switched over to the transdermal gel (same dose). His appetite is improved but of course NOW I'm worried that, "OMG he's not absorbing the meds!" :gaah: I can't wait till this bloodwork is over. We're using the twist and...

    Methimazole and Lack of Appetite

I'd love to hear more from people who use the transdermal, and its effectiveness and side effcts. My vet is reluctant to prescribe it because he thinks the dosing isn't as accurate.

    Methimazole and Lack of Appetite

Hello. I’m new here but I’ve learned a lot lurking on this site over the years! I finally registered because my cat Ed (age 12) was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I’d suspected it, as he had all of the symptoms, then his blood work came back with a total T4 of 4.8. We ordered...
