Sadly, I am afraid this is when this thread ends... with the too short life of the kittens.
On the X-ray, both kittens, like their brother have a deformed thin spine. The ginger girl is even worse than the one we lost last week.
Vets think of a problem with calcium which doesn't make sense...
This is me 13 weeks ago! We rescued a mother who seemed very young. If I had eperience with fostering I had none in Queens giving birth. I read everything possible on this forum and at some point felt ready. I also though our mama was young I thought 6-7 months as she is very small be vet said...
I dropped everyone at the clinic this morning.
Mom is currently being spayed. The kittens will be checked / x-ray tonight.
On Monday the brother has started to walk as if he was old as well. I felt very depressed. It has been really hard on us emotionally especially as the mom has been calling...
Thanks you very much. I really apreciate your kind support. I need loads right now.
I will be checking the link now.
I think mom could be in heat. She is constantly meowing really loudly + she is trying to escape her room. She'll be fixed on Thursday. Only then because I want her to be spayed at...
This morning it looks like the sister is walking funny. Very much the way our little guy was walking before we even suspected anything.
Is it even possible? Can they all develop the same problem?
Thank you very much for your overwhelming support and comfort. We miss him very dearly so does him mom. I will always remember the feel of his very unique soft fur. He had loads of cuddles at the clininc as they all loved him -who wouldn't.
Well unfortuantely, all vets agreed nothing could be done to help this little angel. Sadly, he is now in kittens' paradise.
I try to comfort myself thinking we were so lucky to find his mother. Had he been born in the wild, he would have died in atrocious pain.
Here is a photo of him when he...
I don't see how he can have a good life if he is constantly in pain, unable to move, even getting up is too much. He can't use the litter box he lies all day long.
He stayed at the clininc for the night, the vet wanted to keep him until they discuss between vets to decide what to do.
I am afraid I am not here with good news :(
X-Ray revealed our little guy has a difformed spinal cord. That's why he wasn't as agile as the others.
He's had a strong injection of cortisone to help him with the pain.
Vet wants to discuss with colleagues if anything can be done, but I am very...
He'll be in experienced hands all the way. I am hoping to get a report tonight!
He ate food before he left this morning. But he hasn't peed. He hasn't peed since yesterday morning. I have tried several times to put him in the litter box holding him for more comfort but nothing came out. Maybe...
Transportation has been arranged for kitten to see one of the vet the association trusts tomorrow.
Might not hear back before Friday as he won't spend the night with us tomorrow.
Thanks for your support and advice everyone!
I am about to update the president of the association and ask her to contact one of the vets she usually deals with. The thing is I have recently moved to a more rural area and I no longer have easy access to those vets.
