First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

So the vet gave her SubQ fluids, Cerenia, Cefazolin, and Mirataz. Also since I haven't yet, here is a picture of little Yuna below! This was from a few weeks ago.

Thank you for the detailed post and positive vibes! We would love for it not to be FIP, and from what we understand from talking with our vet as well as a few others familiar with FIP, giving her FIP medicine shouldn't be bad for her if it turns out it is not FIP. The reason they want to start...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

Bad news all. Vet strongly believes she has FIP dry form. 104 fever, loss of appetite, coordination issues, she's extremely weak now, she can barely stand up properly. At the vet she kept falling over. Blood sugar levels are good. Heart and lungs seem fine. Gums are fine. They also did an...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

Luckily our vet has an opening later today so we will be taking her late afternoon. We tried giving her the mix of the Koha and her old food last night and this morning but it's the same; she eats a little bit then decides she doesn't want anymore.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes it is one quarter of a 5.5oz can. She should be eating an entire can a day for her weight. Next time she wants to eat today we will try mixing in her old food again like we were when she was transitioning to the Koha and see how that goes.

She seems to be regressing again. We plan on calling the vet in the AM and scheduling an appointment. She is barely eating. It's like you said, it's as if she is eating less and less every day. There was a point during the transition that she was eating like a can and a half of Koha in addition...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

One thing I have noticed over the last week, and my wife has noticed as well: she's more energetic now (trots/jogs to us, runs up and down the stairs when she's excited rather than walks, etc.) but there's been one small caveat. She seems off-balanced sometimes. For example I had her in my lap a...

4 month old kitten with chronic diarrhea

My cat was having a lot of diarrhea issues as well. Metro and other things didn't help. Prescription GI food made her worse. So far what has seemed to make a difference is low ingredient diet. Vet recommended a LID brand we went with. It's only been a few weeks but so far she is doing much...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

Hi all, sorry for the lack of updates. Yuna is doing much better now! We transitioned her to a low ingredient diet. Surprisingly she was less fussy about the transition this time versus before when we tried transitioning her to the prescription food. We are currently giving her Koha duck wet...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

Thank you all for the suggestions and kind words. We had our next vet appointment yesterday. The new stool sample tests showed up with her positive for feline coronavirus and clostridium perfringens. They said the perfringens toxin count is really low so they aren't worried about that. Regarding...

First time cat parents, constant diarrhea, overwhelmed.

Hi all. Apologies for the long post, just want to get all the details out there. My wife and I adopted a 1 year old a month ago from a rescue. The rescue was also taking care of her kittens, and we had to wait a while to get her because she was nursing her kittens. They also got her spayed a few...
