Thank you for your response. She's been through a lot in the last couple of weeks. She's still eating and drinking. I'm going to get some test strips to test her urine, and my husband bought one of those kits with the vials where we can collect her urine for the vet. We'll try that in a few days...
Hello. My kitty does seem to be saturating her litter box more still. She's drinking and eating normally, acting normally, except she's a bit dopey because she caught a little cold and is sneezing. I'm monitoring that too. Can Convenia make my cat temporarily drink and pee more in volume (she's...
I'm still weaning her off the stimulant and gave her less today. When she came home after not eating and drinking she drank an exorbitant amount of water. She is drinking less, but she's still drinking and peeing more than usual. Her kidney and urinalysis had normal numbers last week even when...
My kitty did eat some of her food this afternoon when fed, so she is eating with less appetite stimulant. I'll try giving the same, smaller amount tomorrow and go from there.
Thanks. She's taking the transdermal kind, but same idea. I reduced her dose today and hopefully she'll keep eating. Do cats generally do well when you take them off the appetite stimulant if their inappetence is caused by something temporary? I can't find a lot of literature about weaning them...
I'm giving her one full dose per day in the morning on the pinnea of her ear. I should correct and say that I reduced her dose today to about 1/3 of a dose.
My cat has been eating well for the last five or six days, and now I need to wean her off the Mirataz (appetite stimulant). Any advice to increase her chances of keeping her appetite and keep her eating? I reduced the dose tomorrow and plan to try none tomorrow if she's still eating okay.
Convenia can be unpredictable. I won't give it to her again, and would be hesitant to give it to a cat in the future. We'll just have to have a daily death match or 'feed the cat the pill' when they need antibiotics. My kitty had a skin infection around her vulva and bottom, and that was what...
They kept her overnight, gave her IV fluids, appetite stimulant, and anti nausea medicine, but she still wouldn't eat. It may be because she gets so nervous at the vet they have to give her a sedative. They're going to give her an injectable appetite stimulant called midazolam. I'm so scared. I...
