Yeah, she's in an exercise pen. I learned a long time ago not to give kittens this young free range! She's pooping in the x-pen on the towels on the floor. She is able to get in and out of the box well. She goes in it, but doesn't GO, if you know what i mean!
I just got a new foster kitten and she's about 6 weeks old and she's not using the litter box. She's in an ex-pen with another kitten (not her sibling, but new BFF) who uses the box fine. I do not know what her history before now is. She was dirty and flea infested so I'm assuming she was...
You may try pulling the catnip. Some cats are "angry drunks" (forgive the poor phrase) and go ape on it. It's a small thing, but I know my cats have to be locked up when they're all nipped out because one because aggressive with my dogs and hyper active and the other is just generally agitatable...
So a little back story: Lera is about 4 y/o, neutered male cat. He is, what I call a former tom-cat in that he was neutered well into sexual maturity and had for most of his life lived on the streets being a gangsta street thug kitty. Then I got him.
So, it's been great for two years, no...
Hi all,
It's been a long time so I thought I'd reintroduce myself! I have two cats, Frank and Lera. Both are former tom cats (neutered well into sexual maturity) and are both from the shelter. Frank had severe entropian in both eyes and was more or less blind. He's had two sets of surgeries...
Hi all,
I need a bit of help with a problem I'm having.
I have two, recently adopted (well, technically one is still a foster) male cats. One male, Lera, is about 4 y/o, and neutered, though he was neutered late in life. He has been neutered for about 6 months. He was a stray from the...
Both of my new cats used to be an outdoor (or at least, mostly outdoor) cats. Lera is fine with being a house kitty--he seems to have no desire to go back outside but Frank does seem to miss it. He will sit at the sliding glass door and cry or stare plaintiviely outside or walk around and try...
And came Frank.
He's another former-tomcat, about 4 years old also. He came into the shelter with his eyes squinted shut. We initally thought it was URI but on closer examination, he has entropian, that is, his eyelashes grow inwards. (ouch!). He has been unable to use his eyes for goodness...
As I posted in Harriet's memorial thread, I have two new kitty additions to the house.
In Harriet's memory, I adopted an older (4ish) less adoptable cat. He's not quite as unadoptable as Harriet was but he'd still been at the shelter for about 6 months. He came in to the shelter angry and...
I had Harriet laid to rest about three weeks ago. The cancer had spread to a point where it was starting to be difficult for her to breathe so rather than allow her even a day of suffering, we had her put to sleep.
It was the worst day of my life and I will always miss her. She was my soul...
is it sadder that it does?
Typical conversation:
"oohhhh... what kind of cat is that?"
Me: "oh, a domestic short hair"
"Oh. What kind of cat is that?" (pointing to differnt cat)?
Me: "uhhhh... main coon mix?
"OOHHHH! I'll take it!"
I haven't posted in a long time.
Tell me about your heart cats.
Harriet is dying. She has cancer and she's my heart cat. I knew it the instant I adopted her but now, with her death looming over my head I am daily reminded that she will not be in my life forever.
I love my dogs and I will...
