    Nutritionally complete premix?

Thanks for the links! I think you have to add organ meat to that if I recall correctly. I wanted something I didn't have to add anything to because I can't source liver, etc., from an animal they aren't allergic to. Maybe I should be looking at multivitamin supplements instead? I'd be grateful...

    Nutritionally complete premix?

Very important criteria: Animal product-free, e.g., no liver powder, with the exception of eggshell powder. I'm looking for a pre-mix that basically functions as a complete multi-vitamin and mineral supplement I can add to ground raw food for cats that are allergic to just about everything...

Can I give freeze-dried raw for dogs to my cat?

I'm looking into homemade raw and cooked diets, but at the moment I'm stretched really thin and need to find something my allergic-to-everything 12-year-old IBD cat can stomach. She's currently on Hill's Prescription Diet z/d and, while she was thriving on it several months ago, she's just not...

Probiotic formula for IBD cat that hates probiotics

Ugh, I know, it's pretty much junk food for cats. It's the only thing that's tolerable at the moment, unfortunately, and just barely. I didn't realize the canned was so low-cal. She used to be pretty chonky and has definitely lost weight on the z/d. I hadn't heard that about seniors and raw...

Probiotic formula for IBD cat that hates probiotics

I should've mentioned that her IBD manifests as vomiting/regurgitation, anorexia, itching and not diarrhea so much (rarely). The vomiting is under control, there's still some itching, the occasional hairball, and her appetite is up and down. A hypoallergenic food (Hill's z/d) and the Renew Life...

    Sorry for the repeat!

Probiotic formula for IBD cat that hates probiotics

Renew Life Ultimate Flora changed one of the inactive ingredients in their probiotic formula and now my 12 year old, Vivi, refuses to eat any food I sprinkle it on. We tried an extra small amount of NOW Probiotic-10 Powder, which doesn't have any fillers at all, and she doesn't like it, either...

Question about fish oil and cat with fish allergy...

Thank you for the recommendation! (Sorry I keep QTing the entire post, not sure how to make names into links.) I'll definitely be giving this one a try.

Question about fish oil and cat with fish allergy...

Is a food that contains fish oil safe for a cat with a fish allergy? I've been told that the oil doesn't contain any of the proteins that cause an allergic reaction, but I'm not sure and not willing to take a chance unless I know for certain this is true.

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

Success! Thank you again to everyone who offered advice. I started to wonder if the objective of keeping them separated was to create a new trauma to replace the original trauma because, wow, they pretty much cried nonstop when isolated in the cat room. It was worth it, however, because I put...

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

I used to watch that show years ago. I wasn't sure if he'd shared some helpful wisdom that was long forgotten. I remembered the part about scent swapping, and how important it is to get an insecure cat to play in front of an aggressive cat. I'd joked with a friend that I might have to hire him.

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

I think you're right about keeping them separated. They interacted *very* briefly today, rubbing against each other once, butting heads once, a little sniffing, and then I distracted them and would get one cat tucked away before they knew what was happening. I've also been switching them around...

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

I can't use a crate due to lack of space. There's enough space beneath the cat room door for them to stick a paw underneath and smell each other, so hopefully that helps get them accustomed to being close and friendly. I'll definitely try scent swapping, too. There are so many strays and ferals...

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

They're spending some more time apart now, so hopefully that helps. Preventing anyone from seeing a stray cat again is actually, thankfully, a fairly simple problem to resolve. There was a stray that would sneak up, at night, behind some bushes to peer inside the sunroom some time ago, then it...

    Redirected aggression emergency: need advice.

I put Tavi's favorite bed in the cat room with Tyger last night, but I'll have to try rubbing the other's scent directly on them. I can't imagine taking all of them to the vet at once...that sounds like top-tier cat parenting and *lot* of work! Right now it's impossible to keep them from...
