Thanks both, but it’s not on his iris (the coloured bit) It’s on the outside of the cornea (the transparent bit). Bit of a mystery. Hopefully see vet tomorrow.
My ginger cat Derek has a small reddish brown fleck in his cornea. Not on the iris- it’s suspended in the clear part (you can see the shadow on the iris) I thought it might be a scratch or foreign body but it’s been there for a week. It moves with his eye. (Not floating around on the surface)...
I realise this has probably been covered elsewhere so if someone could point me to a related thread that would be great! Otherwise my question is simple...
What should I feed my cats?
They're 18months old and have been eating Hill's dry food all their lives on the vet's recommendation - But...
I found some old threads on this but thought it was worth a revisit. Does anyone else have a cat that goes crazy when they whistle?
One of ours will jump up, purring and nuzzling. She goes for your mouth, almost like she's trying to shut you up! ( I also had a cat when I was little that did...
Does anyone have any advice on getting cats to be outdoor cats?
My kittens (brother and sister) will be 1 year old next week. They don't really like to go outside, and are still using the litter tray.
There are a lot of other big scary cats in our neighbourhood and mine are very small so they...
This is all great advice, thanks folks. They're such funny animals aren't they.
The coffee mug idea is particularly brilliant because they LOVE drinking from anything they're not supposed to. - I've already tried that this morning and they loved it. I'll look into the fountain :)
It doesn't sound like a good idea to lock a cat in a bathroom even if there is a big window. Cats need lots of stimulation, space and toys while you're away. Mice I don't know about, but if you're keeping animals in a tank presumably it doesn't make a huge difference where that tank is. The most...
I don't know if this is worth pointing out but you can't spay a male cat - spaying is removing the womb and ovaries. For male cats it's called neutering. If he's not neutered then you should definitely do that, it doesn't affect the cat's quality of life and it will reduce harmful and...
I have two kittens, one male, one female. They're siblings, 8 months old.
Derek, the male, has this weird habit of scooping ALL the water out of their bowl. He just starts scrabbling his paws in it until it's empty.
It's quite funny and very kitten-like but when we're at work all day it can...
My female cat does this. It's usually when she's feeling really relaxed and affectionate. If she's being particularly purry sometimes it turns to biting and nibbling; sometimes quite hard! It's a bit weird and I don't know the answer but I don't think it's a harmful behaviour - If you have two...
