Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

Unfortunately Truffles did't make it :( I had her put to sleep about 1.5 weeks ago. She wasn't improving and after I got her checked out from the vet, she is most likely going to have more complications. It was a very difficult decision as I can see that she was in a lot of pain. She just wasn't...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

@Ginger Tabby Thank you for your kind words. I am trying my best to make the right decision, but I have to be careful on Truffles quality of life. It seems I don't have much options and trying this option will probably show me the decision in the next few days.

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

Yes, she was diagnosed small cell lymphoma via surgery biopsy. There's also a 'gray area' which they can't determine what's going on till they send blood work to the lab and the only labs that will do it is in Colorado or Michigan and will take up to 5 business days. It's basically the same...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

The trip to the doctor was not good. Ultrasound shows the lymphoma is now a large grade cell and it's pretty agressive :( At this point, I am not sure what to do. She is obviously in pain. I am very heartbroken. I am trying out one more thing to see if it works.

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

She kept the kitten food I gave her. No throwing up. I am going to let her sleep now and hopefully she feels better when she wakes up.

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

She is feeling drowsy now because of the Cerenia. She had some kitten food (supposedly higher calories) earlier this morning. I am going to wait for her to wake up later today and maybe feed her more. Not sure what happened yesterday. It's the first time she threw up and although it's not much...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

Yesterday was a pretty rough day for Truffles (that's my cat's name). She was handling the chemo well before but she was more tired yesterday. I made sure she ate before I gave her leukeran. After her dose of pred in the evening, she wasn't into eating. I managed to get 2 spoonfuls of wet food...

    Question about cerenia

Hi sarahsmith455, Thanks for writing your experience with Cerenia. My cat was diagnosed small cell lymphoma and she started chemo for about 2 weeks now. I haven't got much success with Cerenia and Mirtazapine. It causes excessive drooling and she tends to not want to eat at all. I even got the...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

So, today's visit was not bad. Doctor said she is somewhat stable, but probably a long way to go for recovery. I have to be patient since today was only her 3rd dose of leukeran. We have another appointment next week to see her progress. Today, she was more social and a little more active and...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

Thanks! Yes, it is nice to see she's eating and drinking. The pred does make her moody, like she wants to be left alone. Other times, she is back to usual self, loves to cuddle and be petted. Good call! I couldn't understand why she didn't want to come to her food bowl in the early stages when...

Small Cell Lymphoma (recently Diagnosed Kitty)

I finally got something she likes - Fancy Feast dry food. Although she eats small portion, but many meals a day. And she drinks more now too. So it's a good start. I am not giving her any supplements or anti-nausea meds since she doesn't like them, so the pred and leukeran will do it for now...

    Low Blood Count, He’s Dying

Please ask about blood banks, I am sure there is one. As for stray cat, I am sure your vet knows what to do. If not, please ask him questions. As long as the stray cat is not FeLV or FIV positive, then it should be ok. He is right about your cat might not accept the new blood. It's all about...
