Steven was used to living with his siblings and when we took him he had Cake to play with. Without other kitties around he was so bored and needy and restless. I got him a teaser mouse and some other little toys but he still woke us up in the middle of the night crying and wanting to run around...
I'll post more pics as I take them!
I really am so lucky to have him, I don't know what I would have done without him. Maybe corralled the ferals into the house and begged them to love me? They only sort of tolerate me if I have food in hand right now. Hah.
Anyway.
Enjoy this video of...
Thank you so much, everyone. Your sweet messages make my heart fuller. <3
Im glad I took so many pictures, have some more!
Here's one from when the ringworm was still clearing up.
I think I've done things a bit out of order on this forum. I've been here roughly two months (wow!) and have only just gotten around to introducing myself. Some of you may know me already from posts in the health section or unfortunately from Crossing the Bridge.
I'm a twenty-two year old...
I know this is a little late and I haven't read all the replies, but how close to New Orleans are you? I would offer to take the baby off your hands but I just lost a kitten to panleukopenia and won't be taking little ones anytime soon, however, my little guy had ringworm as well and I have some...
Thank you all so much for the sweet responses. It helps my heart a little to know he will be remembered fondly by so many, and to talk to people who understand how important a little kitty can be.
We don't know how he got sick. From my research it seems like the virus is everywhere, it lives...
Roughly seven weeks ago I missed my streetcar stop on the way home from a movie. I've never been so thankful for my inattentiveness. That lengthened midnight walk led me through a parking lot where a tiny orange kitten stood alone in the dark, crying for help. Cradled in one hand, I rushed him...
If he's very young, try giving him kitten milk replacer or another formula specifically made for kittens. Other forms of dairy won't cut it. And if he can eat solid food, you should get him a cat food specifically for kittens, preferably wet. Dry food works too, but dampen it first so it doesn't...
I appreciate the sweet thoughts. It took me a little while to gain the strength to make this post. The visit did not go well. It's wasn't a piece of plastic or any other foreign body that was making Cake sick. They think it was probably panleukopenia because his white blood cell count was very...
They have him on oxygen and fluids, he's stable right now. Might do surgery? I'm in the waiting room, not sure exactly whats going on. Pic from the car ride. He tried to get up and see out the window like he normally does, but got too sleepy and stayed like this for a second before I put him in...
He's so lethargic and still refusing to eat. I spooned a little water into his mouth, wish I had pedialite but I don't. Getting a ride to the vet in about an hour. They're not open yet but I'm hoping they'll just see him without an appointment. I'm so scared for my little guy
Cake can't seem to catch a break. He had his dose of roundworm medicine on Wednesday and has another dose this coming Wednesday. Granted a clean bill of health, I finally got to take home the kitten I've been waiting to adopt for about a month. He's 3 months old now, just set him up in another...
Negative for FIV and FELV! Vaccine round one administered, scheduling his drop off to be neutered sometime this week. Only bad news this time is that he has roundworm. He didn't start showing symptoms until the day of the vet visit, but he threw up that morning and his appetite has diminished...
