    Everyone pretty much covered everything. But also if you are really worried about the scratches you can have the caps put on his claws if he is an indoor cat.

    Try cleaning the box out more often. That's the main reason cats usually do thing like that. Or if it smells try using a different litter. If neither of thee work and nothing has changed around the house I would consult with a vet and make sure there aren't any problems.

    People seem to have given you most of the advice that you need. As far as what I know at least. But I would suggest finding a home vet in your area to come in and check her and maybe put caps on her claws if she has clawed at you? (Didn't read everything in here sorry a lot to read on an iPhone)...
