Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

Thank you for the advice! Like I just mentioned in another comment, it has only been a few weeks. I will continue to watch her on it. Unfortunately I just bought a bunch of Tiki Cat thinking it would be safe for her -_- but maybe I'll stop that for a week and see how she does. Tiki Cat is...

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

Oh and after looking back on pictures of her, it seems it was maybe about a month after we got her that I noticed the fur disappearing. I'm skeptical that it could be mites... but I can't rule out anything at this point. I have to consider everything. If I try everything else, and nothing works...

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

I'm hoping maybe the stop in use of dryer sheets will help, too. I just stopped this last week so we will wait and see. Same thing on the food... it has only been about 2 weeks on the food. I just bought a bunch of Tiki Cat thinking it would be safe for her -_- but maybe I'll stop that for a...

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

Thank you for that article! More I read up on it and talk with you guys, the more I feel like it is either stress/anxiety or environmental causes contributing. Maybe not so much the food allergy. I'll have to update in a few weeks after we move to let you know how she is doing!

Does the amitriptyline have any side effects that you are aware of?

Perhaps that is what happened with the worsening of the belly and the new food. Stress-induced licking from new food. Just a thought that occurred to me after talking with everyone on here. Thank you:)

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

Thank you :) I have been telling myself that, but the last few days with the scabs developing, made me much more concerned. Crossing my fingers the move and a calming aid will help!! Thanks again:)

Daisy6: I was thinking that too, although sweetblackpaws mentioned she would be licking or itching other areas of her body, which she is not. However if it is environmental, I guess we'll find out when we move in a few weeks. We do not have carpet, but wood floors. I try to keep the house tidy...

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

sweetblackpaws: Yes, after there was no change when I changed her diet to limited ingredient, I started leaning toward the OCD thing. Talking it out with you guys on here makes me think that even more so. Since she has the pica condition, I feel like it could be linked. Of course it could also...

Oh I meant to ask, how much were the steroids and do they have any side effects?

Cat Licking Belly, No Fur, Little Scabs: Food Allergies? Or..?

Aw poor Hebe. To be honest Scout's belly just recently got worse with the redness and scabs. Before, it was lightly pink with just the missing fur. I thought choosing a limited ingredient food would be better, but seems only worse. However if it is environmental, it could be something to do...

    Cloth Eating To The Extreme

Hi there, just wondering if you have any updates for us on your kitty who was eating cloth. When we first got our girl (pic in icon) back in November 2017, she began eating socks and anything knit she could lay her paws on. She also started to expand to eating other fabrics, like some of my...

Here is a photo. You'll see it is really just the lower belly. It has moved a little bit onto the back legs, but really just a little. It's mostly lower belly. Thank you!
