We appreciate the extra cuddles! I wish we even made it a few hours, but so far no luck. I tried two different ones, and he goes nuts until it’s off. That is the opposite of keeping him calm! So we are a major failure, and I guess I’ll just have to hope he doesn’t cause damage to the incision.
My kitten is losing his marbles being in the e collar post his neuter surgery, and the vet told us 14 days. Does this seem excessive?? I’m not sure how we will survive…
I feel like the spay/neuter recommendations are changing in regard to ideal age. Our vet is saying for a male kitten to be at least 6 months old. Anyone have any further insight/recent data?
Thanks!
I also get frustrated and disappointed by how vets approach nutrition for cats. At least all the ones I’ve encountered. I’ve definitely always done this for my dog, and can’t make sense of why a cat should only eat the same one food all their life…Thanks got your input!
I had a vet once tell me that cats can’t handle changes in food (even flavor) like dogs can, and to keep them on the exact same type of food always. I’d love more insight into this…
His name is Oliver! Kittens being a different ballgame is an accurate statement ;) Hope we all survive the fun!
Do any of you recommend any particular cat trees/scratchers? Thanks!
You all are amazing! All tips are much appreciated! We haven’t had a kitten this young in our family before. While we are super comfortable with cats, this just feels like a different ball game ;)
All the kitten proofing tips are also appreciated. I haven’t even thought about the teething coming...
My parents will be adopting a ten week old kitten who up until now has been in a foster home with its cat mom and siblings. Any tips for how they can help him with the transition away from his cat family as well as first few days/nights? Anything to make the baby feel less scared/lonely? He has...
Thank you. Will try our best again. She’s around 10. Likely was lost as a stray for quite some time, so maybe she’s more territorial as a result? The rescue told me she is good with other cats, but that wasn’t her home like this is now.
Thank you. I have started the reintroduction process again. As last time, senior cat is fine with scent, but when it comes to gate separation I can’t get her to engage by food or play as she isn’t motivated by either. So she just hides when she sees my cat. A few weeks ago she got to the point...
We have a 3 year old female cat, and have been fostering cats/kittens via a local rescue. Usually we keep the fosters separate, but twice now we have tried to foster to adopt. Our attempt at an adolescent cat adoption failed as he was too much energy for our resident cat, and so now we are...
