Unfortunately, people see any raccoon and immediately think = rabies.

Your raccoon situation is certainly unique to me. In FL raccoons are not protected but cannot be relocated. However it is legal to kill them on one's private property. I have a strong aversion to killing anything. If people have trees or other roof access the raccoons will use the roof and also...

i don't doubt the information but here racoons eat with the cats and I have even seen one of the racoons grooming one of the cats. I suppose if they have some food available they don't need to kill.

What a wonderful bunch of people to the rescue here. I found, by accident, that my cats do not like lemon scent. They would get on the dinning table which I do not approve of and when I polished it with lemon scent furniture polish they no longer wanted to get on the dinning table.

I have a cat that curls it tail down into a very tight coil. She only does this when she is anxious or apprehensive like impending danger. I have never seen this in a cat before until I saw some pics today.
