    Stomatitis Laser Treatment...good or bad?

Thanks so much, your response is pretty spot on from what I've been hearing from people. I've also been told about the diabetes and that was a big concern of mine. It looks like I have some serious decisions to make to get my buddy on the mend.

    Stomatitis Laser Treatment...good or bad?

Does anybody have any feedback on laser treatments for Stomatitis? Our boy Walli had all his teeth removed and after 3 months of being healthy and "normal" the Stomatitis has returned....although nowhere near as bad as it was. The oral specialist we are seeing is recommending laser treatments...

    Dealing with stomatitis

My boy Walli has had quite a battle with Stomatitis over the past 6 months. We started by extracting a few teeth as recommended by an Oral Specialist, but that didn't cure the issue. The remainder of Walli's teeth were removed back in May and he had been doing well since. Just last week the...

Stomatitis- is my vet not being proactive enough?

We had almost all of our boy Walli's teeth removed back in Feburaury due to severe Stomatitis, he is 3. The gums around the front teeth and canines were not inflammed at the time and the oral specialist we were consulting recommended leaving them in. Now 3 months later Walli's mouth is all...

    Stomatitis

Our boy Walli had most of his teeth removed back in February. He was doing great post-surgery and suddenly the infection relapsed and is wreaking havoc on his remaining front teeth including the canines. The oral specialist we are seeing is recommending to take out the remaining teeth and...

    Post Extraction Advice

Thank you very much for the valuable info! We've been instructed to puree 1 part wet food to 2 parts water in a food processor for the first few days then reverse it to 2:1. Walli came home and downed a plate of the food sluree... which was good sign. He's very loopy, but seems content. Fingers...

    Post Extraction Advice

Our boy Walli had the majority of his teeth extracted today due the severity of his stomatitis. They have us giving him Buprenex shots 2x daily in his scruff and he is on clindamycin. It's going to be a rough recovery! Does anybody have any post-op advice? Do's or don'ts? Past experiences...

    Spaying A Cat in Heat?

So I called the vets bluff on the whole not spaying a cat in heat situation. Apparently my vet will not spay a cat in heat...but the waiting 4-6 weeks after line that I got from the reception was false...and the vet tech I spoke to on the phone was annoyed to hear somebody at their office...

    Spaying A Cat in Heat?

We were recently told by our local vet that they will not spay a cat in heat, which we've heard and completely understand. The vet also told us we have to wait 4-6 weeks after she was in heat to get her spayed. I've read that a cat can go into heat again as little as 3 weeks from the date her...

    Sonja and Walli

Yeah, there is another vet in the area that a friend of ours uses that will do it as well...but warned of the exact same issue. I think we'll just deal with her in heat and wait the additional time. She's strictly an indoor cat and we're very attentive when entering/leaving the house t be sure...

    Sonja and Walli

It's a snowy Friday and I'm procrastinating at work...so here is the low down (long and drawn out ) on our 2 new furry friends and how they came into our lives... Our cat Korny (named for Pekornyia...the road she was found on) was 7 and passed away from heart issues in August. Being our first...

    Stomatitis/Feline Gingivitis

Thanks much for the kind welcome and valuable info. I'm a bit shocked about the cost, I was told by our vet it would be in the thousands!...which seemed quite high to me. I was told we have the option of using the vet or a pet dentist...and the dentist is rumored to be more. I'll definitely have...

    Stomatitis/Feline Gingivitis

We recently adopted a 3 year old male cat and at our first vet visit we were told he has severe Stomatitis. The doctor is recommending that we have all his teeth extracted, with the exception of his fangs. I've done some research, but personal experience is always reassuring. Does anybody have...
