Hi! My cat is having the exact same problem. She did it to the left side which healed but then she started on the right side which she made worse than the left. I ordered a donut to put around her neck. It arrives tomorrow. I'm hoping that will help her stop scratching the area but after reading this I'm thinking I need to take her to the vet. I've tried putting antibiotics for ringworm etc that I had leftover from before. It helped heal up the right side I thought. I clipped her nails on the left since I thought they were sharper.
