Clavamox is a brand name for amoxicillin. It's like with human medication-the doctor will prescribe a brand name, but the pharmacy will give you the generic.
I think at this point I'd ask her to clarify. I'm assuming she verbally used the brand name of the med similar to how I often would say "xerox copy" because the brand name Xerox became synonymous and interchangeable with all other copy machines, as well as with actual copying of documents.
What are you wanting to prove? We've all told you that you weren't ripped off and that the medication is correct.
If you don't trust this vet, you need to find another, and quickly because your cat needs the medication sooner than later.
My VET prescribed my boy Clavomox...awhile back..and when I looked it up back then to just research what I was giving my boy it came up as exactly what the other members have said
Clavomox is the brand name..as the other members have said..Amox is the generic name...
She verbally told you Clavomox and wrote the prescription for Amoxicillin..which is the same thing...
Could you post a picture of the bottle or packet you have????
Exactly same medication...just one is generic abd one is name brand...and where you buy them from can vary in prices..

In their system, they would most likely have the name of the actual drug. It would keep things much clearer for all the staff and vets. So it would print out as Amoxicillin, not as the brand name "Clavamox".
