The thread name is what this bio is about. We had met a cute ginger cat, and we are 50% sure it's male and 50% sure it's female.

Lion's Story:

Me and my friend were wandering around, we DID not expect to find Lion and other cats outside at the park. We realized he followed us because we had ice cream in our hands. I immediately told my friend to discard the ice cream because it's not good.

And, silly me, did not bring my cat food container so we had to buy those small wet food containers.

We were having difficulties having this orange cheeto come to us and not be on the road, so we had to feed him where he was, and we still tried to tempt him with food to go to a shelter, as rain falls a lot now, but he had shown NO interest.

We decided to leave him for a while, he was neutered, ear was sliced so he didn't show any fear, he allowed us to touch him and pet him. After his eating frenzy, He was grooming so I didn't touch him, after his grooming and eating were done I petted him and he started to hiss- well, it sounded more like a hiss than a sneeze, I petted him right down his head to near his neck and he hissed, don't really know why.

I'm going to check up on Mr. orange cheeto ball tomorrow, and could anyone figure out why he hissed after grooming and eating?

(If you need more information about Lion, please leave a reply! I can share his last behaviors before hissing.)

Hi. I am guessing that s/he is more than likely been on its own for a while, and is leery of people, and once you gave it some food it wasn't nearly as interested in you.

Keep going back to give it feedings, if you're interested in either getting it to a shelter or adopting it. After a while, a bond will likely build between the two of you, and it will learn it can trust you.

He sounds like a former feral. That's why he has the ear tip, they returned him back outside to live after neutering him. My two former ferals used to hiss at me.
I probably wouldn't bring him to a shelter, they often euthanize feral cats. :(

We just found Lion again! He has stopped his hissing and we led him closer to the shelter.

We have found another cat, a dilute calico/tortie (blue and orange kitty) and we decided to call her Rain!

Rain is very fluffy, she sheds fur more than Lion though. Her pelt is real thick for a shorthair.

Maybe it's just her behavior, but she likes to grab kibble out of the container and eat them on the ground. She. Loves. Food. Very much.

Also, could we ask, we are TERRIFIED when they turn their heads behind and look at your fingers while you pet them, probably just a physical thing; fear. (This has happened loads of time so I just put my hand away after)

He's probably not a feral cat. Sorry if our description of him wasn't elaborated upon. We will update the description of them better ^^

Here's some updated descriptions of both the cats we've mentioned

Name:Lion
Gender: Unknown; Male.
Pelt: Ginger Tabby with a stubby tail that is tipped white. + a white muzzle.
Eye Color: Yellow
Other: Very, Very cute when he hears or smells food. He loves food. It's a shame he isn't quite vocal.

Name: Rain
Gender: Female
Pelt: Blue and Cream Tortie.
Eye Color: Yellowish-Green
Potential problem: Has a red spot near her hind leg.
Other: She is so adorable when she flips on her belly! She also loves food. She looks kind of drunk when sleepy. She likes to mark her scent on bags. Vocal is kept low for her.

Do you know if someone is managing the cats in the park? Since they're neutered I think there must be somebody doing it. You could try to find out who does that and talk to them about the kitties.

A lot of park cats want to go home with someone. Is that a possibility for you?

Well, it's a good thing they aren't biting you - they are just trying to tell you "leave me alone while I eat" - and, they are smart enough to know that they shouldn't be biting the hand that feeds them!! Some cats behave that way all their lives! But, it is pretty likely that over time as they become more acclimated, they may stop (especially if you adopt them!!).

No; Not a lot of people care about the cat around? We would tomorrow.

Oh, Thank you! We were busy today so we couldn't give them their feedings, but we're going tomorrow.

Somebody had him fixed, if his ear is cut. Do you know who did that? Does the government run a neuter program but no feeding/care program afterward?

I honestly don't know her past well. She is neutered based on the ear tip. her lower jaw was weirdly wet with real STICKY saliva. or maybe it's just she hasn't had a drink. There was that weird sticky saliva on her whiskers too. I'm so worried about her. Maybe it's just rain? But as water evaporates, it can't just stick to her whiskers.

It sounds like drooling. The only vet is 2 hours away? She's really pretty, a dilute Tortie maybe.

She might have licked something sticky. She does live in a park! I wouldn't worry about it yet. Only if it persists past the time that sticky stuff would normally wear off.

Here's the thing: somebody had these cats neutered. That requires a vet, a trap or carrier, transportation, money, and a lot of effort. Being Singapore, it may be a government program. Or it might be a private citizen. But whoever it is, they must have a vet they use in the area, and there's probably somebody who is feeding them and providing health care.

Does your city have local Facebook pages? You may be able to join a cat group there and find out who's responsible for the park cats. Some cat neutering programs have a centralized number you can call if you think one of the cats is sick.

I don't want to advise you to do anything that might frustrate the efforts of whoever is having the park cats neutered. The best thing would be to find that person/group and help them.
