My tree is up! It really does look very nice, and I smile everytime I walk through the living room. I have a couple of items to buy when I shop on the 3rd, and then Christmas decorating AND shopping will be done!

Also, VERY megapawsitive, Dr. Truskey just called and said that all of Hekitty's bloodwork is absolutely normal, and she doesn't think we need to worry about getting a urine sample since she drinks and pees so well...previous attempt was an utter failure, due to a very well timed hissy fit. Took FIVE techs to get blood! Thankfully, they did the nail trim FIRST!

@maggiedemi I'm glad you liked that photo :), and herons are so beautiful. One year this lake had a swan, in the midst of all those greyish feathers, for a couple of days.
PushPurrCatPaws PushPurrCatPaws the video was great fun to watch LOL

Gracious sakes, Hekitty!! But good for you!!

My positive, the weather was decent enough that I could get my errands done with no hassle :)

Lelia's positive today is that she got to pick what toy she wanted to play with out of the magic kitty toy drawer. Ah, to have such a simple life.

I made French onion soup with cheesy bread for dinner. According to my Facebook memories, a year ago I ate my mom's turkey soup and didn't share with a kitten.

I miss not getting my mom's soup this year, but it was still a nice memory.

Aww! Homemade soup is the best! I wish I learned from my Grandmas. They both made the best soups! The only one I make myself is split pea with ham. Sooo yummy!!

My pawsitive is definitely enjoying the Christmas tree lights with a good book on my Kindle. Kind of like this:
but only 2 cats and a kindle on the couch instead of sleeping. ;)

It is not my doing but it is a good news: the spacecraft landed successfuly on Mars.
Yes, and I hear Elon is going up there soon. *Better him than me* :ruminating:
PAWSitive is it's Giving Tuesday and I am hoping and praying many who are so fortunate will be generous to cats and kittens in need, and those who care for them.

Oh I hadn't heard it landed! Thats very pawsitive! My kids are studying space and the solar system this year in Science. Literally the entire year is on it. So we really are enjoying seeing space things in the news. :agree: We finished studying Mars a month or so ago too (Just starting Saturn now!). It's really neat to watch the video feed from the ISS too.

pawsitive: I love homemade soup too, and I am very lucky that my husband cooks one of my favorites: butternut squash, currie squash and pear soup!
I loooooove butternut squash soup! :yummy: When my mother makes some she always sends me a large mason jar of it. I don't share. :p

I just finished a bowl of Manhattan Clam Chowder for a late breakfast. It was yummy! I've been missing strange things since having my dental work done last week; like a breakfast sandwich. It's still too soon to bite something big or crunchy. So soup for breakfast is satisfying to my belly. :p

It's so PAWSitive to have good soup at those times, isn't it, MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles ? When I had my oral surgery my ex put stuff I normally ate into the blender. The concoctions were...interesting. Hope you are able to get the satisfaction of enjoying solid foods before too much longer!

It is looking like I can move back into my apartment this afternoon! New carpet is getting installed today, so I'm very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again. Sleeping on my parents' couch for two weeks has not been fun, especially since I have had the stomach flu the last day or so.

OMC, MonaLyssa33 MonaLyssa33 -- that's no fun anywhere! Hope you feel better soon. Must be exciting, though, to look forward to being home again and to see new carpet. Ours is SO old and not nice. Happy homecoming!:cloud9::redcat::bigeyes:

For those of you who love soup but don't know how to make some let me give you a hint: when you have turkey or take-out chicken don't gnaw on the bones but put them into a pot with water, add an onion cut up into chunks, any dried herbs you have, leftover veggies such as carrots or celery and set it on the stove until it boils. Turn down the heat to just a simmer and let it do its thing overnight or even longer. Strain into containers (I use 1 quart Mason jars), discard the bones and herbs/veggies, they will have no nutritional value. This broth will freeze beautifully and will make a really nice soup by just adding some pasta or rice, or maybe a little veggies, frozen or otherwise. It will also make a really nice base for gravies and sauces. I always have some in my freezer and can have soup within minutes anytime it is cold like right now which is always positive.

Such a great suggestion, segelkatt segelkatt ! Or if you don't feel like you want to leave a fire on overnight, having it on when you're home in the daytime would give it not so long, but better than nothing...very PAWSitive and who doesn't love soup in the cooler weather?:yummy:

That sounds simple enough segelkatt segelkatt !

mani mani That garlic looks amazing!! I've tried to grow garlic a few times but they never got that big!

I found a self heating bed/mat on Chewy on Black Friday for about $8. It arrived today. So far Noodles likes it! The fleece material is thick and cozy looking on it's own too. :purr:

My pawsitive for today is remember to come back to this thread after not receiving any notifications of new posts in over a week (!) - I had lots of catching up to do.
I have the absolute cutest baby in the world! He's growing up so fast and almost walking.
What a cutie! Does he always have that many little doggies to play with, or was that just for Thanksgiving? If not his usual environment, what did he make of them? I loved seeing him cruise around the room to the rocker. Is he walking on his own yet?

I posted about my trip to California earlier in the month; I have a not-so-positive update. The home we stayed at for the beginning of our trip near Sacramento had a fire the Monday before Thanksgiving. The house is still standing, but unlivable for now. No one was injured, and their two cats are accounted for, though one was out in the rain for three days and was not happy when they found him. They're living in a hotel until repairs can be made to their home, but are still returning daily to feed the ferals in their backyard.
