I have never head of this tale, not for humans nor for cats, so I dont have any opinion here.Freddie has just been again & its diarrhoea, I've read in humans that this is common as it's flushing out the constipation, is this the same for cats????

Wanted to stress, you must begin with the pedialyte asap, homemade or bought. He needs both supplement in salts and electrolytes, and more water. Its true there is much water in meat or wet cat food, but having diarrheas he loses more water than usual. So you must entice him, perhaps even forcefeed some.
You can begin with simply using kitchen salt and a little honey, till you get better ingredients..
The amounts to get the ratio are: 1 litre water. 1 teaspoon common kitchen salt (or minerale kitchen salt if you have), 1,5 soup spoon of glucose sugar, here honey.
Another recipe may be to use water from heavily overcook rice, and add some kitchen salt into it...
