good afternoon!
lately i've been thinking an awful lot about fresh vegetables. this time of year up north, we don't have the fresh grown veggies available to us that we do in the warmer months. of course, those of us who live in warmer climates might very well have more fresh veggies available to them......pretty much year round!
for today's Question of the Day, let's talk about the veggies we like......and those that we really don't care for.
What vegetables do you like or love?
and -- What veggies do you really not care for?
i'll start!
i think my favorite vegetable is the tomato. oh, what i would give for a nice fresh homegrown tomato right about now! i'd make a BLT, or a simple tomato and lettuce sandwich with a little mayo on it. i actually like pretty much all veggies. i'm not so big on rutabaga, but that's likely because i haven't found a way to prepare them that i like. i also love carrots -- raw, cooked, or in recipes. cabbage and brussel sprouts are others that i really like. and squash -- pretty much any kind of squash! oh, and beets!!! i just adore beets.
i like spinach, but not cooked into mush. i prefer it fresh and added to salads, or on a pizza margherita!
okay, now it's your turn!
