I really like the cat helper who is in almost all of the pictures. I assume he was your quality control tester? [emoji]128521[/emoji]
I do too!  Is that a dilute tortie point?  Hard to tell, but what a pretty cat!
More like "get in the way" cat. Haha she was seriously always on something i needed. Including playing on the carpet while im using a very sharp knife to cut it. As far as breed, i have no idea. I was told she was a rag doll and before i did any research i bought her. But shes definitely not a pyre rag doll, maybe a bit mixed.

Holy Moley Batman! - That's the size of my living room.  That space in NYC would go for 2000 a month. LOL

The craftsmanship WOW...  I"m speechless, those are the luckiest kitties.

You should sell them.  Great work.

Damn, I can't even get my husband to hang a shelf, LOL

That castle is fantastic.  I wish I had the space for one - and the skill and energy to build it.  I hope you cats enjoy the castle for many, many years.

I think you will have no trouble selling those to local cat lovers-and charging $350 is not unreasonable-pay for your time and materials. But only if you enjoy building them-seriously-the junk they sell in box stores=for $200 really ticks me off-if you were local And I had a room big enough to fit this I would buy it from you-I am sure others would buy from you=and its a really great way to encourage the cats to move around more-and having the front covered to give privacy-cats love this kind of stuff.

I say go for it-you can always advertise on craigslist to start-facebook has tons of yardsale groups for states/cities. you will have no trouble finding clients. That design is one of the best I have seen-plus with the entire bottom being solid it wont shake when they jump on the shelves.

What did you use to affix the shelves to the plywood=I saw a metal strap-did you use one of those bookcase elbow things-bracket-couldn't think of the name of that part-I think that castle is going to have a kitten crawling around it in a month-he will love the jungle gym= kitty jungle gym!

Ive been thinking about building to sell but i want to give this a little more time to see what the cats do to it. Ive alreadt had to replace a piece of carpet because they wripped it to shreds (which was expected). As far as the shelves, yes i used the metal brackets and then used screws from the front into the shelves. Alot of measuring and having a assistant hold it and not move it while i was drilling! Ironically I wasnt even thinking of a 3rd cat until after i built it! Then a baby kitten popped into my life so it all worked out!

I would so save pennies to buy something about 1/3 the size of that one for Ms. Hekitty, who would adore it!!! Of course, it would cost half my annual income to ship!

You have made the most thoughtful play place for your kittens that I have ever seen. Bravo to you for all the hard work that went into this creation. I am sure that everyone here would love one of these if they had the room for it. Perhaps you should try and make a smaller version. This could turn into a business for you. I absolutely love it. My cats would be happy for days with it, and probably forever. It is fantastic. What a beautiful kitty you have, post more pics of your kitties enjoying their castle. Also, you are wonderful for taking on a very young kitten, and doing all the work required for that task.

Thanks! I dont think im going to make a business out if it, as it can be very tedious, specifically the notches for the top of the towers. But i do plan on making more. Im going to make a smaller one for my friend who fosters cats so well see how a smaller on looks!
