Needed some time to recover from that photo.... actually, it might take me some time.  Anubis is hilarious, I think he might even be more expressive than Mouse.

I reckon you feel Anubis is so big now because he was such a little scrap when you brought him in to your home.  I remember when Mouse was about 9 months old and starting to fill out and look more grown up too and I was convinced he was fully grown and huge - but looking back he was about half the size he is now.  I think he weighed about 9 lb and now is more like 15 lb (but rather less fit I fear).   I had only had female cats before and Mouse at 9 months was about the same size as they were fully grown and actually weighed more.   Anubis looks pretty perfect to me, and not a monster cat at all (apart from that steely look in his eyes
 ).

My thoughts on Anubis copying everything he sees Princess doing is that he recognizes that both he and Princess are cats and he is learning from her in the same way he would from playing with siblings and watching his fur mom. Doing so from another cat is the next best thing and it is great for him that he has a cat companion.  When cats live together they will often share phases through the day too, so will eat then groom then sleep then play and so on.  If Princess is the more dominant cat it makes sense that Anubis usually follows her lead - though not always of course.

Ugh, he needs to stop growing. People don't believe me when I tell them he's about 8-9 months old! He's too big, and he's also heavy! I can't hold him for so long because my arms get tired. He has a big head and paws. When he was sick and I said "I just want him to grow big and healthy" that's not what I meant by big lol I want him to stop growing and remain healthy! Lol
Look at those snake eyes !

Yay!  Lots of Anubis pictures!

He is just the image of a healthy cat now - it's hard to believe from looking at these photos that he was ever so small and sick.  I'm so glad he has Princess around to teach him how to be a cat. He sounds like he is enjoying life tremendously now!

Are male cats bigger than females? Or do I just happen to have a small queen? Lol

My male cat is right around 14 pounds. The female is 10 pounds but she is not necessarily full grown as she is right around a year old.

She is always copying him and has learned to get up on some of the highest spaces in my house by watching him. Luckily (or unluckily) she is not afraid of anything and makes crazy leaps from any height back to the ground.

From the picture just posted I think it is safe to say Anubis is bigger than Princess.

She is pretty and petite and he is large and splendidly handsome.    Some female cats can be small, some males small too, but on the whole I think males tend to be larger and it can be quite considerable even within the same breed / with genetic similarities.   It could be that Anubis had a really big father but we will never know I guess.   The most important thing is that he looks really healthy.

Don't worry about him being bigger than Princess and maybe hurting her because in most situations I have seen (other than where there is an entire male cat) it is the female who will be the boss.   Not so unlike humans me thinks.
Someone I know used to have a huge grey neuter male cat and a petite little orange neuter female:  that ginger female made it her life's mission to keep that poor blue boy right under her paw.
The poor guy got paw-bashed every chance she got.

When Anubis was sick and small I felt like princess weight a ton. Now it's the complete opposite. She is light as a feather and he's heavy . He's very active though so I assumed he'd be more on the slimmer side. He's pretty long too.

It is amazing how the weight of cats can vary even when they look the same size.   One thing to remember is that muscle weighs more than other tissue e.g. fat, so if you have a male or female cat of muscular nature they will weigh a lot more than a similar size cat of different build.   Both my previous female cats were roughly the same size to look at but different build - one longer body and legs and very muscular, and the other more stocky, cobby build and a little tubby. In her prime the lean muscular cat weighed a good 3 lb heavier than her litter sister!

Anubis has muscles [emoji]128569[/emoji] Lol it's all muscle with him. You can't even feel his bones unlike my girl who is small and short and I can somewhat get a feel of her bones. She eats like a bird but is more laidback. Anubis eats and is very active. He doesn't know the definition of sleep lol

Awww, he's a teenage kitteh @lallorona  ,  Mouse was like a non stop energy machine that went from bouncing to snuggling to eating to bouncing on a constant cycle until he was about 1 1/2.   Don't worry, Anubis will turn in to a regular adult cat at some point all too soon and then you will be wondering where all the fun went
and how on earth your little dynamo can sleep 25 hours a day.

Anubis is simply gorgeous and looks so healthy

My Lilith is tiny. She's about 5 pounds. 1 pound of that is her long, silky hair
Henry is a good 10 pounds and she rules him with an iron paw. She never lets him forget who the boss is. Sophie is her second in command so she doesn't get picked on as much. Even my 40 pound dog knows that Lily is the boss.
