An appetite stimulant might make him eat more, but it will not solve any other underlying issue. DMG is an immune support supplement, which in his case will not hurt him, but may not be enough to reverse things.

As Bruce wouldn't let them get blood, how can I know what's causing his weight loss

I. Hate to lose any cat, but I like to know what they have so I get a chance to help if possible

When you don't know what your dealing with makes it ultra hard and I feel. So much guilt each time I have to have one put to sleep, in my mind it's murder, I can't help how I feel

I've had Bruce since he was 15 weeks old and nursed him too

He will be 12 on the 30 may
I'm. Not sure he will be still here then if he loses any more weight, I just feel incredibly guilty

I don't want to lose any animals

The vets are very expensive too

Plus something wrong with felix, he has an appointment tomorrow
I could end up losing 2

I agree with others here if you can get gabapentin to give him so someone can draw his blood that would be ideal. It is considered to be safe in the recommended dosage, so maybe check with the vet to see if that is possible. I understand from what you said that it is not possible to change vets. It is obvious to me the you love your cats very very much. I hope you can get bloodwork done on him and finally get some answers soon. You are doing the best you can for your babies.

I do want him to have bloods, but vet couldn't get any
I can request another appointment. But they are so slow to respond, could be another week, and getting them to agree to a sedative to take bloods is another matter most of them just see a old thin cat and keep offering euthanasia
Which I don't want unless I know 100% it's terminal

Yes I love them very much

I've not slept that well last night

I am very glad Bruce got his bloodwork done and is not diabetic. His weight loss is concerning. Bell's Palsy is caused by various things humans and cats. Glad they did not feel any bumps on him. Hopefully the antibiotics well help him feel a little better while you wait for the blood work results.
