Question of the Day Late Edition 1 June, 2024

As a kid, but nothing would make me go near them now.

    Soup Wool, acrylic or other?

    What is your dream cat?

I used to fancy Abyssinians, or Siamese, or polydactyls. But I've never had any sort of cat except DSH (and one MLH) because they were all rescues, and if I should get another after P&D cross the bridge, it will be the same story. I've long fancied a calico (had two dilute torties and a torbie)...

Look who's reading TCS tonight! 😄

Maybe! Cats have such sensitive noses.

I have wondered if megacolon could be behind it, but that seems more likely to cause weight loss (and hers is well under control at present, she hasn't had constipation since August 2022). The vets don't seem to have any idea, but also don't seem overly concerned, which is a bit odd.

Bananas, however, are of no concern! (I put them there to get some sun.)

What a beautiful snake! I've never handled a snake, but I'd like to. When you think of it, a wand toy looks and moved more like a snake, but cats aren't fright of them. So goodness knows what it is about cucumbers that scares them. I think I have to get up now. 9am and someone is demanding...

Look who's reading TCS tonight! 😄

Yes, that seems to be the usual explanation, plus the sudden appearance startles them (when stupid owners deliberately frighten them with one). My two have never seen one, I only have cucumbers on the bench being cut up or in the fridge. Deliberately frightening a cat, ugh.

    Name Three Things - 2024

Knitting group; got all the neck and right front shaping done on the cardigan I'm making. Gave Daisy her evening pill and cleaned her teeth. Had big snuggles at bedtime and gave her her special drink (Osmolax, which she likes).

Question of the Day - Thursday May 30, 2024

According to this I’m Gen X (most things I see have me as tail-end Baby Boomer). This seems more accurate. My whole working life was shaped by privatisation and recession.

Calling all knitters and other woolly things.

You'd need to find a Gypsy Cat, this is Daisy! 😆 But yes, she does like to change the tension after something's knitted ...

Question of the Day, Wednesday, May 29, 2024

Evenings. I usually go to bed early (though don't go to sleep early) and for Daisy that means cuddle time. Since I bought a feathered wand toy this week, it can also mean a few minutes of play if they both get energetic later.

What Are Your Cats Doing Right Now?

They're not doing anything (but have confirmed that I'm not venturing out in this dodgy weather to go to the gym today. Bad enough I have an appointment in town later.)

Are cat exercise wheels worth it?

She's doing more than Daisy, other than chasing Phoebe around she only plays when I initiate it.

    Geoffrey Small Cell Lymphoma

Aritesmom, I'm so, so sorry. You didn't let him down - a stroke isn't something one can plan to avoid, least of all for cats, and you had looked after Geoffrey so well, and you loved each other to bits.
