    Screens

They do. What I used though when I had a screen porch was bird netting that I added onto frames surrounding the screens. It kept claws from reaching the screen and they could not get through it.

The dilemma of care vs trauma

I sympathize, one of mine was a mostly feral who didn’t trust me or any other humans. Catching her for anything was just so traumatic for both of us. And then not knowing if the hiding or not eating afterwards meant illness or just fear. Anyway, I would try the churu route. Churu in one...

    What's on Your Mind Thread - 2024

I don’t know but this afternoon I had another pair show up and the female tried her best to take a full bath in it, sort of the way a bird does. Splashed out about half the water ! I was thinking about maybe getting some kind of a larger water container for them. Thinking a litterbox, new of...

That is a good plan. If you are going to have anyone helping be sure the door to her room at the new place has a “cat inside, do not open” sign on it. And if you go in to check on her make sure no one is going out or coming in the main door when you do.

When I was attempting to move Lola from mom’s to my house I first tried putting her a carrier. I got her in it but didn’t get the door shut quick enough and she flew out and right at me, biting me three or four times. I ended up having to set a cat trap to catch her and while I brought her...

    Name Three Things - 2024

Got Lola’s room vacuumed and sparkling clean yesterday. It added more to the laundry pile of cat blankets and rags which I will try to get done today. And Lola successfully transitioned to using the basement litter boxes which should keep the whole upstairs cleaner and litter free.

Lola was my mother’s cat and was just a nasty biter there. If you annoyed her, and sometimes it only took your presence, she would lunge and bite hard enough to break skin. Because I was there often caring for my mom, I was bitten a number of times. But since she has lived with me she has...

One of my former cats, Murphy, not only pooped in her carrier on the way to the vet pretty much every time but often puked as well. Gloves and pet wipes were required for vet visits.

I was thinking the same thing about bags. You just get a burst of dust flying up when you empty a bagless, whereas with the bagged kind everything stays contained.

Vacuum cleaners. I have a Dyson cordless and a nice Shark upright but when it comes to deep cleaning nothing beats my old Kenmore canister vacuum for suction power and the ability to vacuum crud for an hour or more without having to replace the bag.
