Things go bump in the night when you are the only human in the household.
Christmas ornaments only go on the top half of the tree.
The lint trap is primarily full of fur.
There's a cage on your deck (aka a catio) and it happened to be the first project you did when you bought your new house.
There are empty boxes throughout the house.
The Christmas tree skirt is no longer under the tree.
The Christmas tree isn't the only tree in the house.

When you have to empty the vacuum cleaner three times from master bedroom alone

There's a security fence around the Christmas tree

When you can instantly tell the difference between small earthquakes, passing truck convoys and the zoomies in your sleep.

When you keep empty boxes in your living room.
We never throw cardboard boxes out until they have been thoroughly examined, sat in, nibbled on, played in and slept in.

I usually only get the living room and dining room done before I've had enough.

When you always bother to open the front door AND the back door to show your cat it really IS raining, no matter which exit it chooses.
I would add on to this - when even after being shown that it is raining, they go out and then come in wet and demand to be dried.
Oh yes, I do have a cat who expects to be dried when he comes in wet. He has us all very well trained. All three hoomans know to get a towel and attend to His Lordship. Otherwise he comes to us and "loves" on us with his wet fur, ugh.
