Democrats say they have deal with Trump on young immigrants
White House Rejects Supremacist Label: “No One Has Done More Than Trump to Prove White People Are Not Superior”
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Upbraiding the ESPN anchor Jemele Hill for calling Donald Trump a “white supremacist,” the White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said on Wednesday that “no one has done more than President Trump to prove that white people are not superior.”
“It’s grossly unfair that Ms. Hill sought to portray Donald Trump as an upholder of white supremacy, when everything he says or does directly undermines that whole concept,” Sanders said. “Anyone who thinks that Donald Trump is on some mission to make white people look good hasn’t been paying attention.”
Sadly, that kind of sounds like something she would say. You can't tell the difference between satire and reality anymore :/.
OMG, just the title! How true!
I believe it! I honestly believe it! Finally somebody in that regime said something that makes perfect sense!
I think that may be premature. The Dems are saying the agreement has protections for the Dreamers and includes increased border security measures but excludes Trumps stupid wall. Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the agreement includes the wall.
We'll have to see what the final legislation is. It is possible that both accounts of the agreement are accurate. The increased border security could amount to the "virtual wall" that has been discussed recently. If so Trump can claim he is getting his wall even though it isn't an actual physical wall.
This will be a good test, better than the debt ceiling deal, of whether Trump has learned the value of compromising with the Dems as a way to work around the dysfunctional Republican Congress. IF that turns out to be true and Trump continues to work with Dems he will finally be doing what many of us had hoped the supposedly non-ideological Trump would do from the start: hammer out bipartisan deals.
That's a mighty big "if" though. Every day is a new day with Trump. What he does or says on any given day tells us nothing about what he will do in the future.
Edit: Now Trump is saying he has agreed to delay new action on the wall and not tie it to the Dreamers legislation. As I said above we'll just have to wait and see what actually happens.
He is as unpredictable as a rabid bull elephant. Perhaps that will change. Perhaps a real deal will be made in other areas.
Don't forget whatever deal Trump makes with the Dems would require some Repub votes to make it through Congress.
Which, if some Republicans are sane, would well happen.
Trump Humiliated Jeff Sessions After Mueller Appointment
Lol, now if I posted the same article in more than one thread I'd never hear the end of it. No worries. But I think that may be old news.
That is one amazing photo op
Because we all know Trump is the only POTUS that has ever done Photo Ops don't we?
Still an amazing photo op, regardless.
I am very highly amused by his "these are the biggest hurricanes ever! We've never seen such terrible hurricanes! No president has ever had to deal with such bad hurricanes! Worst. Hurricane. Season. Evar." And then someone asked him what we should do now that climate change has made hurricanes so much worse. Now his stories have changed to "meh, they were just regular hurricanes, no biggie".
Sometimes you just gotta laugh or you'll go crazy.
Who was the knucklehead that said "what we should do now that climate change has made hurricanes so much worse" because that is a stupid question.
Why is it a stupid question? Climate change is the worst threat to humans that we're going to be dealing with in the next few years. We need to make plans. Arguing about who or what caused it or didn't is stupid (well, we do need to figure out what's causing it so we can try to stop it, it's the arguing that's dumb). But we still need to make plans.
Who asked? I don't know; it just says "a reporter": Trump dismisses Irma-climate change question - CNNPolitics
I'm all for cleaning up the air.
There is no way of knowing that hurricane's are worse now than they were 100 years ago.
No, because 100 years ago they didn't have the technology to record wind speeds, etc. We do know that they're worse than 40 years ago though .
