Thank you for reminding people about these, I shudder to think of the tragic consequences. I wrap them securely around the opened blinds whenever we leave. It might be worth it to look into the 'cordless' blinds, they just lift to the proper height. It would be well worth it in a house with cats and small children.

) normally leave down just turn wand.

Excess cord from raising yes can still be hazardous - friend's cockatoo needed toe amputation from being severely tangled damaged. Must be cautious.
