Posted on here previously about introducing a new cat (Biscuit, 6 yo female recently spayed tripod) to my resident cat (Vesper 2 yo female spayed) I adopted Biscuit about 4-5 weeks ago now thinking they would be a good fit - both VERY playful and energetic; Vesper is more aloof while Biscuit is a velcro cat.
Followed the Jackson Galaxy introduction method- new cat gets a home base, scent swapping, feeding together, visual contact, etc. and have inadvertently started supervised in-person visits (one is an escape artist and found her way into the same room…).
They both seemed fine until meeting in person. Vesper is mostly over growling/hissing and is acting very curious toward Biscuit (creeping up to smell, acting playful), but every time Vesper gets close Biscuit hisses and growls! They have not swatted each other or fought yet, but it’s been 3 days of supervised visits and Biscuit doesn’t seem to be calming down at all… can they learn to get along (though may not be best friends?)
